Three forces are converging: the sovereign debt crisis, AI-powered mass financial surveillance, and the emergence of network states. Together they make private, fungible, sovereign money a structural necessity, not a feature.

I built a full-text search engine in Rust using Tantivy to ingest and index Brazil’s Diário Oficial da União–the federal government’s daily journal. It scans new publications for key phrases and sends real-time email alerts.

For now this is an overview of hobby projects, systems I want to build, and a few coordination problems I think are worth solving.

Open-Source Infrastructure Ideas

Generic DNS Seeder in Rust

I've been sitting on this idea for a few years now, need to get started on it. Would be generic for any network (Bitcoin, Dash, etc.) and configured via command-line options and/or config files.

Using Goroutines and Channels for High-Throughput S3 Object Hashing

Revisiting the S3 Hasher, but this time in Go! We achieve similar performance to Rust, processing at just around 3 GB/s using Go’s built-in concurrency primitives.

High-Throughput S3 Object Hashing: 3GB/s with Rust and Tokio

A high-speed S3 object hasher built with Rust, processing at up to 3 GB/s. We use a channel-based architecture to concurrently stream and hash S3 objects. We process a 12 TB dataset in just over an hour, demonstrating Rust’s capability for efficient, large-scale data processing.

Kekich's Credo

Dave Kekich was a long-distance runner, weightlifting fanatic and up-and-coming entrepreneur, and in the late 70s, suffered a debilitating spinal cord injury which left him paralyzed from the waist down. After his injury and a couple of bad business experiences, he wrote 100 of the most impactful business and life lessons, commonly referred to as the “Kekich Credos”, or “Kekich’s Credo”.

Kekich’s Credo

1. People will do almost anything to stay in their comfort zones. If you want to accomplish anything, get out of your comfort zone. Strive to increase order and discipline in your life. Discipline usually means doing the opposite of what you feel like doing. The easy roads to discipline are 1) setting deadlines, 2) discovering and doing what you do best and what's important and enjoyable to you and 3) focusing on habits by replacing your bad habits and thought patterns, one-by-one, over time, with good habits and thought patterns.
