about

EMP017 Reflective Hits 2

eternalmusicprojects.bandcamp.com

Reflective Hits 2 continues Mat’s exploration of concise works for modular synthesis, forming part of the ongoing Reflective Hits series. Developed during Can We See What We Hear, a Creative Victoria Creators Fund research project, these short-form pieces act as micro studies in timbre and gesture, offering focused snapshots from a broader investigation into sound as a spatial and visual form. Minimal in duration but rich in detail, the release extends the series commitment to brevity, texture, and process driven composition.

Tracks #1 “Do Not Disconnect (Hit 7),” #3 “Reflections of a Closed Circuit,” and #6 “Hit 6” feature the Hammond Novachord (circa 1942), widely regarded as the world’s first polyphonic synthesiser, recorded at Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio.
