we all wake up in the morning, and take that long road down try to fill our cup of water, and try no to drown can you hear me on the left, can you hear me on the right? im just tryin to be the man, i pictured in my mind yes im just a simple creature and faith is hard to score id like to wait here with you, but my knees are getting sore when you point your fingers at me, youre just pointing at yourself i am you and you are me wo why do we all just chill out

Brownsville 05:04
a dead man walking came and shook my hand before i drove his truck away. he didnt have much life left in him, he could barley breath to say "that truck will run strong forya boy, dont let it get out from underneath you". then his one eyed daughter signed the title over as i counted out the money theyre due. and there all alone in the corner was a girl, the grand daughter of this man, and death comes a knockin hes gonna answer that door with a cigarette in his hand and i said: girl, listen now, get a world away from brownsville, it doesnt matter what you say or do, until that day youre gonna sit here and breathe these blues i took that truck for a spin with that one eyed daughter adn she told me what was going down. that her father was dying from cancer of the heart in this one horse backwards town. she said she wanted a better life for her and her daughter but her daddy drug them both back in. and that she knows all the cops in this one horse town so go ahead and let the wheels spin. i thought back to that girl in the corner, the child of this woman, and when death comes a knocking shes gonna anser the door with a cigarette in her hand. well i mustve looked worried cause that mama reassured me everything with the truck was just fine. and shes gonna take that money, for her and her honey and get out just as soon as its time. then the old man coughed and he nearly died. i could see the fear in that little girls eyes, then the mama lit up another pall mall red, and i couldnt bite my tongue before i said: hey little girl all alone in the corner, the child of this problem, when death comes a knockin you gotta answer no door with nothing in your hand.

i went out last night baby, and i threw all my money down. for a hand shake and a favor i had such a good time on the town. i spent all my money again. i spent it all on my friends. and if i get one more greenback i know im gonna do it again them pills are so powerful baby, and theyll take you right to jail. better have some satisfaction, better have someone to go your bail. i lent my last dollar baby, to a good ol friend of mine. and i aint seen that dollar baby, in a year since todays time

went downtown put my name upon the line, put the ballot in the box and the man said "thanks for trying" but its all a waste of time got real mad, made myself a sign. went downtown, hollering and a crying, but it was all a wast of time waste of time had me a friend locked up in jail for 5 to 9 for what over there in oregon just simply aint a crime, now all he does is waste his time had me a lover, felt like a brand new dime. said something wrong guess i crossed the line, now all i do is waste my time gets cold in the desert when the sun goes down at night, sure gets cold when your friends leave you behind, and all you do is waste your time. i moved off to the city, off to chase a dream, and the only thing i had to prove i guess was just to me, that its all a wast of time
5.
My Dreams dont do you justice, as hard as i may try, with wishes on my lips and a tear stain in my eye. i wish we all has something, that was worth the time of day, to stand right there and love, instead of walk away i just dont want to be lonely anymore, so put your arm around me like that time you did before. my dreams dont do you justice and theyre never going to, theyre aint nothing coming close to the time i had with you I wish that i could see you, like staring at the sun, burning holes inside my brain until the next day comes the birds know that i miss you, so they sing another song, and theyre right theyre oh so right, and i just clap along
6.
Aint it amazing what becomes of two young people falling in love. over the years itll all slip by, aint it amazing how time flies aint it amazing how much live loved. and just how close ive come to giving it all up. no more excuses no alibis, scares me to death just how time flies. the sun will come up and the birds will sing, aint it amazing just how the stars love to shine, i love your fingers intertwined with mine. no past no future just a piece of mind, and not a care about that flying time

Now Forever 02:57
you better know that its now forever, it doesnt matter what you do. you picked a path and make a choice and now, you got to follow through so run into the woods with September at the dawn, and dont look back for nothing it the world. come and run with me my lamb, no we dont need a plan. let me care of the changing air die with the leafs, laying on the land just head west when your heart needs rest, and take the one you love with you along. breathe in deep and dance with both feet to the sound of your very own song.

Last man drumming, everyones gone home but me theres blood in their eyes, theres blood on my arm everyones gone home but me no more patience, no more virtues they bit the hand, that feeded them

stare out my door every day, hoping that world will change its way. its what it is, like it or not. we're all in the same boat, expect it to rock another day went by, dint go so good, thought i could do better than i thought i could. i guess it doesn't matter now, ive been thinking that a lot were all inside, were all alone, im living life through a telephone. old fashioned doors may never get another knock a big tornado came a month ago, now i got sick friends stuck behind closed doors. go ahead and try and surprise me, go ahead and give it a shot i had a feeling it may end like this, siting home in my pajamas with no one fun to kiss. id take any kind of action so i keep my car unlocked. to all the mommas expecting babies, dont let this world drive you crazy. your unique ship will find its dock thinking bout my friends all shut inside, who might not make it off this ride, im looking for the lesson im supposed to be taught the whole worlds shook by invisibility to the past well look for just how not to be. now we square off for a fight thats never been fought i guess you're hungry, i hear you moan, how can you get angry sitting at home? count your blessings, count everything you got i feel like a saint doing my part, i guess i cant walk to the park. this living on the edge aint a brand new thought this last one its goes out to all the ones who go without. standing in the lightning just trying to get a shock

Hey now, what you know? im just waiting on my old friend Joe. well hes left handed, you can see him miles away, now everyday goes by slow, and i keep waiting for my old friend Joe hell blow your mind, right out your body. hell paint your portrait out of stick and honey. where did he go? if you know you know. and i keep waiting, on my old friend Joe hes the son of the south. and hes got a french mouth. hell light up your smoke, and make a brand new joke. you could always find him dancing at our show, yeah yeah yeah, hes just my old friend Joe.

Walk It Down 03:11
walk it down, walk it down, walk down, just walk it down when the rain comes down, and your tears fall down, you know ill come around and we can walk it down no need to lock it down, or talk it down, that goes round and round, of just exhale, till youre feeling well and walk it down if youre stuck n a sad song and you cant be found, just keep on singing and walk it down. when nothing is clear, and you hate the mirror, and the jokes on you and the whole world too. im just walking it down..
