lyrics
Go out your way
No lights, all ocean
No work, no play
Carried away
Nothing in motion
You never had to try
You keep me waiting
Wouldn’t cross your mind, to care for
You’re running out of time
Then give me nothing
How you use your time
You are no less no more
Fear shuts your every effort
Clouding your better judgement
In the way
You carry on reluctant
Carried away
To bed where you lay down hurt
Thoughts on their own, moss on a stone
In the way
Unearthing coal, strive for control
Carried away
You never had to try
You keep me waiting
Wouldn’t cross your mind, to care for
You’re running out of time
Then give me nothing
How you use your time
You never had to try
You keep me waiting
Wouldn’t cross your mind, to care for
You’re running out of time
Then give me nothing
How you use your time
You are no less no more
Brilliant progressive thrash with badass lyrics, tight instrumentation, and some of the raddest sections in their discography, notably the lyrical flow at the end of Motor Spirit, the hyper-fast thrash ending of Converge, and that one part in Dragon. You know the one.
The eye dilates! The air gyrates! A gate in the sky! A portal to die! A shriek from space! A mangled yell! Dragon descends... Welcome to Hell! BananaBrainsYYZ
The album that introduced me to KGATLW and one that makes the ideal starting point for their discography. It has a little bit of everything Gizz: psychedelic, rock, metal, rap, EDM, funk... Despite the diverse sounds, the album manages to flow really well. with great transitions between tracks. If you're looking to get into King Gizzard, or want to introduce someone to the band, go with Omnium Gatherum.
Drip drip from the tap, don't slip. Drip drip from the tap, don't slip on the drip... BananaBrainsYYZ
Montreal janglers with one foot planted in ramshackle indie pop and the other in the shimmer of early English shoegaze. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 10, 2024
