This House Possessed TV-Movie (1981)
Welcome to Friday! Today, as I do most Fridays during the Countdown to Halloween, I present a long-form video to enjoy. This week, it's the 1981 made-for-TV movie This House Possessed!
In the film, Parker Stevenson plays a young rock star who suffers a nervous breakdown and takes time off in a luxurious mansion with his nurse. While in the house, very strange things occur to both the rock star and the nurse. Is the house haunted? Are they crazy? Or is something else going on? And what exactly is the history of the house?
The reputation of this movie is admittedly not good, but I'm featuring it because a specific scene stayed in my head when I first stumbled upon this movie as a child involving a very creepy shower.
Enjoy below or directly on YouTube here. Have a great holiday weekend! Enjoy the extra day if you're lucky to have it!

Jaws 50: The Shark Is Still Working Documentary
Happy Birthday Jaws! It was 50 years ago this very day that Bruce the shark first terrorized audiences, scaring them away from the water to this very day. It's my favorite movie, despite, or because, it frightened me to my core after seeing it from a too-young age. And I'm far from the only one with such an experience.
The Shark Is Still Working is a fan-made documentary that lovingly details the effect the film had on moviegoers worldwide. If you count yourself as a Jaws fan, you will see yourself in the documentary.
Enjoy it below or directly on YouTube here. Farewell and adieu!

The Saw 20th Anniversary Jewelry Collection by Gnoce
Welcome back! I hope you’re enjoying your Halloween season!
Today at the blog, we’re doing something a bit different than we normally do.
I was recently contacted by Gnoce, the jewelry company that offers beautiful, timeless jewelry that is festive, fun, and affordable. They offer jewelry for a variety of occasions and holidays; Halloween is no exception. And in that Halloween spirit, they reached out to me because they are excited about their latest line of spooky bling, honoring the 20th anniversary of the Saw film franchise. Thanks to Gnoce for providing me with these complementary pieces. I can’t wait to show them to you!
Billy the Puppet has been placing his victims in the most precarious of situations for two decades, and you can now literally wear your adoration for the rascal on your sleeve. Case in point, this awesome bracelet, letting you know that, for his latest victim, it’s truly “Game Over.”
A great thing about the bracelet is that you can add charms to it, such as this one featuring Billy on a tricycle (see above on the bracelet and below by itself). You know, when he’s on his downtime.
Moving from the wrist to the finger—Saw is all about body parts, after all—Gnoce also offers this Saw ring, featuring the face of our favorite little maniac. Choose your size and he can be yours!
Finally, we have this beautiful necklace, complete with Billy’s face and a favorite weapon of choice. Add this to the other pieces shown above, and you will be the number one Saw fan in your ‘hood!
To show off these pieces “in the field,” my daughter Megan has graciously agreed to model these pieces to show how great they look (thanks Megan!). Complete your spooky, goth look with the Gnoce Saw collection today!
If you like what you see, Gnoce has other great pieces for Halloween available. Check out their Halloween Sale: buy two pieces, get two free, plus get a free bracelet worth $49 with every order. Take advantage of this great offer today!
Thanks!

My First Halloween Shopping Trip of the Season
Hello everyone! I hope you are getting back into the post-summer groove easily and smoothly.
October is less than two weeks away, and I'm sure you are already prepping for Halloween. I'm a late bloomer compared to most out there, as I don't start celebrating Halloween hardcore until October 1st. I'm a slacker, I know! But I did make a couple of shopping excursions for the big night, only one of which bore any fruit, but I'm happy with what I bought.
First up, a family-size box of Carmella Creeper (Walmart, $3). I still have plenty of Monster Cereal I didn't eat from last year, but I couldn't pass up the first new Monster Cereal character since Fruity Yummy Mummy in the 80s. I've heard mixed reviews on the cereal, but I enjoy caramel apple flavor, so I'm looking forward to trying this next month. Until then, I need to eat last year's cereal!
Next up, a 3-DVD collection of Beetlejuice, Gremlins, and Gremlins 2: The New Batch in a new glow-in-the-dark slipcase (Walmart, $9.96). Even though I already have Gremlins on a VHS tape my wife bought me 20 years ago, and I have Beetlejuice on a not-so-great dubbed VHS tape from the late 80s, I thought the DVD upgrade was worth it, especially since I don't have Gremlins 2 in any format. Plus, the entire collection was less than $10. The new slipcase was just a fun bonus!
Next, a pair of skeleton gloves (Dollar General, $2). My wife bought a skeleton costume from Target on clearance last year, and I thought these gloves would complement it. They're a bit snug, but they'll do.

The Man in the Santa Claus Suit (1979)
Here we are--two days to Christmas! And what a season it's been!
Today I feature my final offering before the big day--the 1979 TV-movie The Man in the Santa Claus Suit. In this film, three men--an uptight political operative (Bert Convy), a homeless man (John Byner), and a lonely schoolteacher (Gary Burghoff)--rent Santa Claus suits from an elderly tailor (Fred Astaire, in his final film), each desperate to fulfill a need by renting the suit. Each man goes through a personal journey by wearing the suit. And that tailer seems to show up in different guises throughout the film. Is there something--different about him? Watch and find out!
The movie debuted on NBC in 1979, and was a staple of syndicated Christmas programming through most of the '80s. I've never seen the whole thing, but it's always looked interesting, and I'm happy to present it to you now.
Well, that's the last article before Christmas! I have LOVED doing this Countdown to Christmas--and it's not over yet! I plan on sharing a couple of New Year's Day related items next week, so please stay tuned. And remember that the holiday season doesn't end on December 26th. New Year's Eve and New Year's Day are also part of the holidays--celebrate them!
Enjoy the film, below and directly on YouTube here. And if I don't see you during the rest of the season, Happy Holidays! Happy Hanukkah! Merry Christmas!

The Munsters' Revenge (1981)
And we say adieu to Week 3 of the Countdown to Halloween with a long form program, as we do every Friday. This weekend, it's the 1981 TV-movie The Munsters' Revenge!
In this TV-movie, which first aired Feburary 27, 1981, actors Fred Gwynne, Al Lewis, and Yvonne DeCarlo are reunited in their Munster roles, with Herman and Grandpa mistaken for thieves (the true thieves are robot replicas from a nearby museum). It's up to the Munsters to clear the family's ghoul, er, good name.
This is another item I haven't yet seen, but I still feel compelled to share, especially with the Munsters on everyone's mind thanks to the new Rob Zombie film. The Munsters' Revenge is the first of several reunions and reincarnations of the franchise. Let's see if it's a good one.
Enjoy! Have a great weekend! Be spooky! You can also watch the movie directly on YouTube at this link!

It's 100 Days Until Halloween! Time for a Halloween News Update!
As slow as things may be at the blog the rest of the year, October here at Me and You is always bursting with Halloween goodness. And there's already so much amazing stuff to look forward to. Here are several awesome things coming our way this Halloween season!
First up, Twitter cereal news account Cerealously has determined that this year's Monster Cereals will be doing a promotion with art brand KAWS. I hadn't heard of KAWS until my son told me about them, but that isn't even the story. The real story: Fruit Brute is back! It hasn't been available since 2013, but it will make a grand appearance this Halloween season!
A multipack is reportedly already available at Sam's Club wholesale stores, but you can expect this year's Monster Cereals to start shipping everywhere this August.
In other Halloween cereal news, toy expert James Zahn has discovered a Halloween cereal out in the wild right now! It's this year's edition of Halloween Fruity Pebbles. July seems awfully early to make a Halloween cereal available in stores, but if you look for it at your local supermarket, good luck!
Here's a BIG announcement regarding Halloween music. Record label Craft Recordings is releasing the full soundtrack to the legendary TV special It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! The soundtrack was first released in 2018, but it was not well received by fans. That version of the soundtrack was comprised of pieces edited directly from the TV special along with sound effects and not the original master tapes, which had been considered lost to the ages. But the masters have now been found, including alternate takes not used in the special!
Craft will offer the soundtrack in severals formats; digital and streaming, CD, a 45-rpm vinyl record, a 33 and 1/3-rpm orange vinyl record shaped like a pumpkin, and a picture disc vinyl album with a unique splatter design, but that one has already sold out in pre-order.
But that's not all. A "single" from the album has already been made available digitally, an alternate take of "The Great Pumpkin Waltz." Listen below!
The movie stars Christopher Lloyd and Rachel Leigh Cook. There is no trailer yet, nor is there word on if the movie will be available in theaters or home video/streaming, but this sounds really cool!
Everyone's favorite homicial doll, Chucky, returns to SyFy and USA Network on Wednesday, October 5th! My son and I had a lot of fun with this series last season, and we're looking forward to to see what the little man does next!

Batman Returns: Dark Side of the Knight Featurette
Here we are--my final post in tribute to the 30th anniversary of Batman Begins!
We'll start off with a short interview Tim Burton did on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno promoting the film. Note how awkward Burton seems to feel during the interview; you can tell it's not his thing!
