In the summer of 1995, in the quiet town of Laguna Beach, a peculiar gathering took place: The AIX International Expo '95. Spectators were promised a futuristic showdown of humans vs. robots in extreme sports. The engineers were confident. The robots were precise. The humans, however, were reckless, creative, and had an irrepressible sense of youthful rebellion. In the end, soul triumphed over software. The machines shut down. The humans celebrated. The engineers adjusted their glasses, took notes, and quietly ordered pizza.
