Its been a while since I have worked on & released a long form piece although some longish tracks have appeared on some recent releases but nothing over the forty minute mark.

During a weekend in early November 2025 I was experimenting with some patches I had created on my beloved Prophet Rev2 one in particular had a some serious expansive sonic aesthetics, super low bass when tweaking certain filter envelopes and playing polyphonically on the keys utilising the lower, the mid and the higher keys at the same time added a mix of searing highs and rumbling lows.

This lead me to the ominous opening passage of this piece and inspired me rather quickly with other elements. The piece seems to shift from dark to light in mood and atmosphere, from a sense of dark mystery or foreboding to a sense of peace or enlightenment or subtle hopefulness.

I spent a few days bouncing back and fourth on the mix and arrangement until was satisfied that I had something that worked well as a long form work.

Due to the varying mood and aesthetics and emotive shifts I struggled to come up with a fitting title and as a place holder I just called it Untitled Long Form 01.

Eventually I decided that U.L.F 01 would be the title as it is very open to interpretation and has a certain mysterious feel to it.

This also leaves it open to perhaps a series of new Long Form pieces for the future.
