The Flow State as a Spiritual Practice

To create in a state of flow is to experience the purest alchemy of the spirit. It is the moment when thoughts step back, and the mind simply knows. Colors find their rightful placement, and the design emerges, unforced, carrying an inherent simplicity that resonates with joy.

This effortless emergence, however, is a profound paradox.

The Foundation of Surrender

In the beginning of any practice—be it painting, music, or writing—we are tethered to the analytical mind. Every line is a deliberate calculation; every color, a hesitant choice. This effort is necessary, though often tiring and confusing. It is the arduous period of accumulation, where we consciously build the intuitive toolkit.

But the true barrier to flow is not lack of skill, but fear.

I have observed countless times that we are instinctively afraid of making mistakes, afraid of revealing our perceived imperfection. This fear locks us into a space of rigorous control, preventing the gentle, playful current of creation from taking hold. The work remains heavy because the mind is too loud.

The Alchemical Equation

The breakthrough comes when years of study allow for a definitive surrender. It is the moment we realize that the stored knowledge—the understanding of line, color, and form—no longer requires active thought. It resides, crystallized, in the body’s memory.

We transition from thinking about the shape to simply being the action of the shape. The mind is momentarily paused, and the ensuing space is the vessel of creativity.

This is the freedom of Allowing and Doing. It is not a shortcut, but a graceful flight achieved only after the wings have been carefully built. This space—this silence—is where our hard-earned practice is transfigured into effortless intuition. We draw from the deep well of experience without needing to consciously analyze the depth.

For me, this artistic flow is deeply entwined with the practice of meditation, where silence is consciously met and cultivated. Meditation teaches us to create space for what is new, for what is yet unformed.

Once we understand that this suspension of the analytical mind is possible in creation, we can apply it with purpose across all facets of life:

• While writing: Allowing the thought to stream before the critic intervenes.

• While cooking: Letting the ingredients intuitively guide the flavors.

• While walking: Simply experiencing the movement without purpose or destination.

Flow is not a reward; it is an expansion. It is the evidence that the painful work of integrating the shadow—the initial struggle and the fear of error—has ultimately revealed an infinite, bright space where true wisdom resides.

To find the spot of profound fun in art, one only needs to build the tools, and then dare to let go of them. We practice to transcend practice.

The experience of now

Life is a journey

An unfolded dream, were you are ever expanding,

it is uncertain to say how deep the dream is for we will 

never be fully awakened for this would mean that the

ride is over and that is not possible, life is endless.

How amazing is the amazing

This universe, I both, love deeply and have

been very scared of it, the reason being, I didn´t 

know what I was and so that not knowing was the 

source of that fear.

Ignorance is fear

As I grow, fears are still there but pushed back somewhere in 

my mind, I don´t pay attention to them the way I used to, it´s 

a sleeping shadow that I now understand better, is a child that 

is always scared and refuses to be loved and hurts everyone 

around her, contaminates the world when awaken.

I now have a song for her, a lullaby, it´s about love and how

wonderful the world is, about how we can travel with freedom 

and still be ok, about how we will grow and understand this

moment, this precious moments we are inn now, our journey,

it may seam ordinary but is not, is an outstanding event in were

we are, you and I are, they and everyone is...

How deep can you dig?

Dive inn, in to silence, find and seek and at the same time

just be, breath and allow the symphony of you. 

You are happening now

And your song is unique and the stars are listening.

Everything brings lessons,

people come and go from our lives,

we grow and understand different than a year

ago, than two years ago, than ten years ago,

but maybe that is how it´s supposed to be.

Maybe that is evolution.

Let us accept and keep in the heart those 

things that make us fly but also stand firm,

like dreams and love, it´s what truly

matters at the end, those are the things that will

travel with us and keep us warm through the storms

through the mist in the journey,  for those moments

when the shadow awakens and tries to be, 

so we can hold on to strength and keep going,

that which will keep us warm company till the 

end and maybe beyond.

Art journaling a lot lately, a favorite way to
make art and think and experiment.

The days in Mexico are beautiful now, 

clear blue skies and warm winds,

very hot in the day which invites for
a lot of iced brevages and new inventions
of flavors, a lot of fruits and salads

and rainy in the late afternoon and nights,

my favorite smell (petrichor) is bursting daily 

now so I am in extasis at this moments of the day,

I am enjoying this time, this special time in my life

were I am at peace with my self, growing and 

understanding better what I am and excited for the 

unfolding that is coming.

It is my hope and my wish that you also come to
a point of enjoyment of your self and of your life,
I think that is what we are here for.

Life

Together we travel the rivers of life, 

discovering the amazing in us, in others, in the universe.

How wonderful it is to be able to be a witness of a little part,

piece, slice, that one mind can acknowledge, it really is a treasure.
Can you imagine to witness the whole picture?
Those are the kind of things in my mind. :)

For each of us is different, no one sees the world like you or 

me and that makes it even more special, that is how 

I undestrand we are all unique, the things each one understands

about life is what makes us different from others and in 

some cases, that is the cause of trouble too, we should learn 

to respect the differences and even try to learn from them, 

we could grow in consciousness because of being open 

to listen, probably that is the reason why life gave us 

relationships, to share those differences.  Sometime this 

sharing hurts and others feels like a blessing, in any case, 

one always wins, lessons are learned, life is ejoyed.

Learning from our relationships doesn't mean we should allow 

rudness or them trying to convince us that what they think 

is the truth for everyone and we shouldn't try to convince
anyone about our beliefs but that is a hard task thinking globally,
it has to be done individually for religion, politics and so
would´t agree with this for other reasons but how wonderful
 it is to not have walls, be open, to witness, to share, to grow,
expand. To me, that is love, that is growing in consciousness.

Life is a dream of the spirit

when the spirit awakens, the spirit knows who she is

others may tell her how to awake but only she

shall know when the time has come for it

and then, it´s all work, to be awaken and to stay awaken,

this is not an easy task, if there is a reason for it, it shall

be that this path is only for those who are true.

Studio renovation and give away

I decided to give my studio a full, deep clean up,
it was hard and tedious, almost lasted a week,
in the beginning I was super excited by my idea,
ho yes, let´s do this!
In the middle of the job I was frustrated and tired,
so much to decide, what to keep, what to throw,
what goes were?
This was decided after planing on what I will do
this year, it all comes to more love to my self, more
play time, enjoy and do things with meaning to me and my
heart, more softness so everything is at hand,
 easy to grab, harmonious, clean and abundant.

At the end I felt like that time when you have a long warm bath,
renovated, clean, everything ready to face a new journey,
ho yes!! What a great feeling and how wonderful to
accomplish a task till the end!
Yay for me!!

 I just feel so happy that people are liking them, honestly,
I thought it was going to be a project for my self
alone but it seams that many like this kind of work and
