Are you taking a break from posting albums? I guess I would understand if you did, but I hope not, have found lots of great stuff here!.
ReplyDeleteOK, this is a good chance to explain some things.
DeleteExactly 5 years is a long time and a "Guinness record" for daily posting.
This blog is gonna remain as it is without new posts. Only old broken links will be updated after request.
Of course, I'll be around and hopefully a new blog will rise again soon.
I will let everyone know in here; So, stay tuned.
"Goodbye Doesn't Mean I'm Gone"
this post looks a little worrying adding the comment about all the fish.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year MPK and thanx .

DeleteHappy New Year!
Hello MPK707,
ReplyDeleteI wish you and all your beloved people the best for 2017, above all in best health.
I should have written a bit earlier, but at the moment I got it that you say goodbye I was a bit shocked (Yes!) and unable to find some reasonable words.
It was so self-evident that everyday at 12:00 AM there was a new great album on your blog that I didn’t realised it first what’s going on, but of course it is never self-evident what you did for all of us and I will thank you so much for 5 fantastic years with great music in great quality, far away from the mainstream stuff. Always presented here in perfection with best rips and tagging.
The best at all is your politeness and kindness in answering every comment which was written, never ever seen on any other blog.
I enjoy the Greeks and I’m glad you’re not gone.
Nice greetings from Germany. Pubbi
Hi, Pubbi and thanks for this wonderful and kind comment!
DeleteAs I said somewhere above on the comments, I'm not gone. Posting the "Enjoy The Greeks II" is a mark of it. Just take it as a break.
There's a plan of creating a new blog with a few good friends of mine but there's always a possibility of running this blog again. We'll see.
Nice greetings from GR!
Gelukkig nieuwjaar
ReplyDeleteGroeten Paul
Thanks, Paul!
DeleteHappy New Year to you too!
Thank You for your splendid blog....sorry and sad to say good bye, but happy to hear you will return with something new, in the future....I await your return, my friend....

Happy new year, and many thanks for all the great stuff
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, anonymoys!
DeleteHappy New Year, buddy!
By far the best music blog I've been to and one of the few that I actually bookmarked. I've made - and still make - so many great discoveries on that blog in the last few years. I've been slowly but surely hunting my favourites on physical format, some harder to find than others but that's part of the fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your work on this blog, I really enjoyed it. And, most importantly, good luck in your future projects!
Thanks for your kind words, Yannick!
DeleteCommunicating still, even here on comments, is a mark that I'm here and we won't lose the contact hopefully. Just stay tuned.
Happy New Year!
Ouch, just got around to read this post: so sorry you seem to quit things for the time being! Thanks A LOT for all the great great records you gave to us over the years and I do hope one of these days you change your mind and continue!
ReplyDeleteThanks, mate!
You're very welcome, Dirk and thanks for your kind comment!
DeleteYes, who knows, my friend? :)
Thank you for all the great music you made me discover!
ReplyDeleteGood luck ;)
You're welcome and thanks for your wish!

Will miss your posts that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for all the music through all these years.
Wish you the best!
Hi Christian and thanks for the comment.
DeleteI wish you the best as well!
Wow, what a surprise!
ReplyDeleteYou certainly deserves a good rest after 5 years of daily posting.
Your persistence is admirable.
Thank you very very much for all the great music.
I especially would like to thank you for posting requests of rare treasures I couldn't find anywhere else.
Your kindness shines thorough every post and every response.
I give you a big hug and will wait patiently for any kind of return after your rest.
Thanks for your kind words, my friend ML!
DeleteI'll do my best for a good return here or somewhere else.
Need to put some things in order in my personal life.
I was so excited when I discovered this blog last year. I felt like a kid in a candy store. Thanks for everything!

Cheers!
A great blog, thanks very much for doing this.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comment, George.
DeleteYou're welcome!
Sorry to see this great blog coming to an end! Got to hear all kinds of new music for the first time and would like to say a great big THANK YOU for your efforts to promote obscure and less mainstream recordings which rightly deserve attention. Thanks again and best wishes in all your future endeavors.
ReplyDeleteJames
You're welcome, James and thanks for your kind comment!
DeleteBest wishes to you as well.
I often dream of trains.
ReplyDeleteYou sound like Robyn Hitchcock. :)
DeleteAre you serious? At first I thought that your last post was metaphorical! Now I'm beginning to realize that you are leaving! I don't know what to say, this blog's music is a mirror of my youth! If a help to maintain the blog is needed, just ask for it! This is the end? I don't believe it! Anyway thanks for everything and - especially - for the courtesy of answering to everybody here in person! Have a happy and healthy new year - I wish you the best in everything you are doing! Farewell 'captain! my captain!'.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comment, flyra.
DeleteNo worries. Hopefully something new will rise soon.
Take care.
It is too late for wishing you a happy new year and it is sad that this blog comes to an end (probably not). I followed you since a few years and it was always a pleasure to see what comes next. As you said - goodbye doesn't mean you're gone. Thank you for the good times and looking forward to your appearance here.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Walter
Cheers, Walter!
DeleteYou're welcome and as I said above: "no worries".
Stay tuned.
Fantastic and complete job! Thank you very much for all the pleasure!
ReplyDeleteThe most two outstanding downloads for me were by "FSK" and "Colorblind James Experience". I will be eternally grateful for both.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Brause and thanks for your kind comments!

thanks for everything!!
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome, Andrew!
DeleteThanks for the comment!
My dear MPK707, I've been "following" you ever since you were "aries", and you, sir, are special. Great music, lovely attitude, always. I'll have a look around and see if I've missed something (The Sexual Life of The Savages, on the Soul-Jazz label, a compilation of post-punk bands from my hometown of São Paulo, Brazil, perhaps?) ;-D
ReplyDeleteI wish you all the best, always.
Um grande abraço,
Waltz
You're welcome, Waltz and thanks for your kind comment!
DeleteI have this great Brazilian compilation.
Let me write it down for a future post here or somewhere else.
I will let you know here.
Take care and stay tuned!
Dear MPK707,
ReplyDeleteI discovered your blog only in recent times, and I'm sad reading about your decision; but I respect your will and a man who gives me Adorable (and all the others) in flac will always have a place in my heart. Thanks for your work and "arrivederci".
From Italy, Roberto.
You're welcome and thanks for the polite comment, Roberto!
DeleteNo worries as long as I'm still here and I reply to your comments. :)
Cheers!
Hello,
ReplyDeleteBlogmeister over at A - Z pointed me in your direction a few days ago. Since when I've been going a bit mental.
I used to have a LOT of music but along the way I had to lose most of the original vinyl and CDs through one disaster or necessity or another. What I did have I spent years digitising ..into 192kbps MP3s. I didn't know any better, and even if I had - just didn't have the digital space at the time. Of course the limitations of those files became apparent over the years. As did the limitations of hard drives (grrr).
In many cases I don't have the original material to re-digitise, even if I had another lifetime to do it in.
So now whenever I find something in a better quality than I've already got, I take advantage of it with haste; I've often just bookmarked music blogs entries before and been laissez-faire about getting back to them, only to find the entry gone when I did... So I'm a bit more active about things now. Of course, I always accept, if it's gone it's gone. No point hassling people; life's too short.
So - thank you for leaving so many of these resources up, for however long they may be. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to replace my ancient low-res copies - and in some cases grab a few things I've never actually heard (bonus!). So the recent sudden D/L spike will probably have been me, and it'll be going on for a while yet as I gradually work my way through the site over time; at least whilst it's available.
I'm sorry I've nothing to give in return. My latest misfortune, another downsize and consequent severe lack of space, saw me have to dispose of my remaining vinyl. All of it. So I sent it to Blogmeister en masse and he's added it to the pile of things he'll be making available through NoRecordShopsLeft to anyone who wants it.
Thank you for making this material available in decent quality, and thank you for what I am able to harvest to rebuild my own record collection, albeit digital ghosts of the lovely vinyl discs...
:o)
- Penguinflight
Nice to "meet" you, Penguinflight and thanks for this long and polite comment.
DeleteHappy to serve good people like you. Cheers!
Thank you for taking the time to do all of this. I came late to your blog, but I am grateful for all you have done.
ReplyDelete:)
You're welcome, anonymous friend and sorry for my belated response.
DeleteEnjoy!
Many thanks to you!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome and thanks for the comment.
DeleteNo matter it's short. :)
Much appreciated!
Many thanks for leaving the site up. I am another one who has only recently discovered this place albeit a bit late. I have discovered some real gems and rarities in the last few days (and in flac too) and quite a few I bought back in the day. A Mark Kozelek album I missed, the early Kings of Convenience compilation that I had never even heard of, I have been reminded of how great A R Kane were. So many gems you have curated here.
ReplyDeleteAnother great blog goes down, but all the best for the future
This blog was one the absolute best ever! I come back every once in awhile to see if MPK has reconsidered. Still hoping.
DeleteMe too. A bloody excellent blog. Such a pity to see it go
DeleteChris
Thank you for your kind comments, folks.
DeleteStay tuned!
thanks for the monster trax!!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, anonymous friend!
DeleteYou continue to be an inspiration to me. I just downloaded the entire 5 album reissued discography of The Passage, for which I thank you! I add to the sentiments of others who say I hope you will consider at some point restarting this blog. Regardless, best of luck to you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comment, Streamliner!
DeleteCheers!
Hi MPK707,
ReplyDeleteI wish you a joyous merry christmas and a happy new year 2018 in good health.
If you ever plan to re-enable this blog, or plan something else of interest, please let me know.
Thank you once again for everything, and especially your great and constant kindness. I can not remember any other blog where every comment was answered in such a pleasant way.
Nice greetings from Germany.
Pubbi
Nice to read from you again, dear Pubbi.
DeleteI'm doing fine but busy with a radio station in my city.
Thanks for asking and I hope you're doing fine as well.
I'm thinking seriously of coming back here as soon as possible.

Wow, what a beautiful gift, a, thank you very much for that! I've just come back from my hometown of São Paulo (it's been 10 years since I moved out) and this is the perfect soundtrack to the city of my youth in the early 80s. Massive thanks again, truly appreciated.
DeleteYou're welcome, Walt.
DeleteEnjoy!
PS: There's a good radio broadcasting company in São Paulo. "Sinteck First".
If you know the guys, let me know. :)
May I just say what a comfort to find someone that actually understands what
ReplyDeletethey're talking about over the internet. You actually realize how
to bring an issue to light and make it important.
More people have to check this out and understand this side of your story.
I was surprised you are not more popular because you most certainly have the gift.
Thanks for your very kind and interesting comment, my friend.
DeleteHave a wonderful 2018. Cheers!
Thanks for finally writing about >"***** Happy New Year! *****" <Loved it!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteHappy New Year 2018, my friend!
Big thanks for such sterling work throughout the blog, you are most definitely a legend! A happy new year to you, hope you have a wonderful 2018. Do you have a tips jar, I'd like to put a few pence in?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words and the offer.
DeleteMuch appreciated but this is an absolutely free blog.
Happy New Year, my friend!
Wow. Just found your site via a referral from teh blogsphere. And found that I "needed" like, the first half dozen albums I saw listed. Ditto on that tip jar idea, I see no evidence that you've monetized the site in any way but DAMN, your time and effort are worth a lot to "the community." Strictly a judgment call, etc., but I for one, broke as I am, would kick in.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words, Diana.
DeleteI just added the blog that appears clicking on your name/nikname(?).
Cool blog in my "Cool Blogs".
Take care.
Yay! RYP and Gyro have provided a sandbox for folks to play in, a daily post titled "And Now For Something Completely Different." It dragged me back into the "music forum" frame of mind after many years' absence. Great fun, and for actual music addicts, a big community resource. :D
ReplyDeleteWhat a great huffin! Blog !!!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteEnjoy!
Hello MPK707,
ReplyDeletemy best wishes for you and your family in 2019.

It's surprising what the net deserves you. Found this blog not long ago, and literally shocked me, because almost all the bands I love are here. Plus, I was suffering a depression that held me almost a year and to find this albums was like some kind of relief. I want to thank you wherever yoy are, because all the good things that one does without hoping any profit for them, comes back in some kind of greetings, or something like that.. 😊. Thanks for help me and for your kindness setting these works ve able to many to discover or re-enjoy . Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your long, kind and sensitive comment.
DeleteI'm very happy for helping you and this is the most important; more than the actual music.
The blog is under a long "vacation", especially if you live in Greece :) but maybe I need to work again on making new posts some time in the future.
Take care and feel free to write me again whenever you feel the need.
What an amazing blog, I was searching the net for The Family Cat and found their albums here. Thank you very much! Ps do you have the Family Cat album Five lives left? Thank you
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment, Mez and happy that you got the Family Cat albums.
DeleteI do have this anthology that you asked for but as you know I don't post on the blog anymore.
I will try and find a way to send you the anthology tho.
Give me a couple of days (I'm a little busy these days) and check this comment again.
See ya soon.
