Acorn is the new album by Italian pianist and composer Melissa Galosi. Each of the eleven tracks represent Galosi's reflections on the "Acorn Theory" by psychoanalyst James Hillman. According to this concept, every individual is born with a specific imprint, a sort of vocation, which accompanies them and grows throughout their life, from childhood onward. This resonates deeply with Galosi, who, in addition to her work as a concert pianist, has many years of experience teaching piano lessons to children. Moved by her students' genuine sense of joy and wonder, the record draws inspiration from the playfulness and authenticity she witnesses in these budding musicians. Galosi deftly intersperses this joyful approach with her impressions of the Acorn Theory, offering listeners a musical journey that is at once meditative, serene and hopeful.
