Not quite synthwave, not quite vaporwave, not quite future funk; a really fun blend of the three genres that feels like something I would have discovered on some random internet radio station in 1998 (that's a good thing), with hints of late 90s Sega and early 2000s anime in the mix. Great mix and a fun listen! J. Wright Reviews
YES. Why can't we have more synthwave like this? One thing I've found is that synthwave with up-front vocals tends to be uncommon. Unlike many other albums, this one has a vocalist and his voice adds so much to the mix. The music itself is fantastic, atmospheric, futuristic but the guy's singing adds real substance and atmosphere to it that you just can't get otherwise. This will 100% be on repeat for a LONG time. One of the best on Business Casual! J. Wright Reviews
The new single from ako takes a decidedly woozy take on club music, with dreamy vaporware aesthetics and a deliciously laconic beat. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 29, 2022
“softcore mourn” from the UK act pizzagirl is a brightly-hued mash-up of razor-edged synthpop and emotional melodies. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 24, 2021
