Steven Teale John Peel played Mogwai Fear Satan on his radio show one night many, many years ago when I was driving home in the dark. I was an instant fan. Favorite track: Mogwai Fear Satan.

giovannilauffer The Scottish ensemble Mogwai pioneered the standard post-rock sound on their debut with experimental touches. Despite a hint of Japanese influence on the cover, it's mostly aesthetic. Standout moments include the eccentric "With Portfolio" and "Tracy". Mogwai's influence is palpable, forecasted to impact acts like Explosions In The Sky. In essence, Mogwai not only walks the post-rock path but forges it, leaving an indelible mark on the musical landscape and genre. Favorite track: Tracy.
