Une des signatures de Bongripper, c'est que le groupe ne fait appel à aucune parole sur leur stoner/doom. La seule exception se trouve sur Hippie Killer : 《 Die you hippy scum, die hippy scum Peace won't save you from this gun 》("Terrible Bear Attack"). Ça paraît simple de prime abord, mais tout est dit. Bongripper ne vise pas l'onirisme acidulé et halluciné mais le cauchemar total et poisseux. Si The Great Barrier Reefer plaçait la barre très haut, Hippie Killer est un magnum opus du genre.
