the southern plantation system was the economic system that best harnessed the economic potential of the black man in america. i believe a big problem in the american economy is that we are not effectively harnessing this valuable asset in our economy, and the result is that we are not as rich as we could be.

Yes, they are still contributing to the economy of America, but they are doing so in an ungracious and unyielding manner, and they are not as effective as they can be.
