BetaPop On paper, it sounds like saxophone and breakbeats shouldn't go together, but Moochie throws convention to the wind throughout Breath of Life. Appropriately titled, this album is rejuvenating as it constantly explores different sounds and textures to create optimistic, imaginative sentiments. Moochie's sax playing rides the lines between composition and improvisation, always feeling free spirited and joyful. This is music as it should be. Favorite track: asleep.

about

'Breath of Life' has been the culmination of years of practice and study, with the first produced song for the album starting with the titular 'breath of life' in June 2024. Since then, with my graduation from my Master's program, moving, and working, I've gradually put together more and more songs as I continued to perform at conventions and other live spaces.

I've always been scared of putting my music out there for others to listen to. Though I've been a performer my whole life and I've almost never had stage fright, there is a certain professionalism I worried about when it came to recordings/production. It wasn't until the past few months that I realized there will never be a better time than the present.

This album makes me so happy because of the social and musical progress I've made throughout it. It is a quite literal breath of life for me to listen to it throughout. I hope that you, too, can feel the happiness and love I have for music when you listen :)
