#ContinentalCzechRepublic #Barumka55 #BarumCzechRallyZlin #Motorsport #HistorieRegionu

What do your tires have to do with your car’s range? In the latest episode of The Continental Tires Garage, our rolling resistance expert Dr. Christian Strübel joins host Daniel to explain why tires lose energy with every single rotation. It's a phenomenon called hysteresis: as the rubber compresses and deforms, energy is turned into heat. With marbles, a sponge and a bike on an indoor trainer, we make the physics tangible – and show why striking the balance between low rolling resistance and high wet grip is one of the toughest challenges in tire engineering. The result is measurable: an "A"-rated tire on the EU tire label can save up to 80 liters of fuel over its lifetime or add tens of kilometers of range to an electric vehicle per charge. 5. září jsme si připomněli Mezinárodní den charity — a o den později jsme to dokázali i v praxi. 💙 #ContinentalCzechRepublic #CSR #ZlinskyKraj #Dobrovolnictvi

🎉 Yesterday we celebrated 30 years of innovation in Hanover-Stöcken In 1996, we opened the doors to our Technology Center in Hanover-Stöcken, Germany. Three decades later, this site has become the heart of our global R&D network. The story of Stöcken began in 1938 as a tire production plant, where passenger car and truck tires were produced for decades. But when tire production ended, the story did not. Instead of closing the site, we transformed it into a center for innovation, research, and development. Hanover-Stöcken is now one of our most versatile locations, bringing together expertise from across the entire value chain on a single campus: 🔬 Technology Center & InnoLab – where ideas become innovations ♻️ ContiLifeCycle plant – combining truck tire retreading and industrial rubber recycling 🏭 In-house machinery development – we build the machines and tools that build the tires 🧪 Specialized labs for example for acoustics, physics and prototype tread carving 🌍 Semi-finished materials – supplying Continental plants across Europe Around 2,800 colleagues from 65 nations work here, making Stöcken one of our most international locations worldwide. As part of our global R&D network, the teams collaborate closely with colleagues at our 15 other R&D sites around the world to advance safety, efficiency and the driving experience. “At the Technology Center, we work on the most complex optimization challenges in automotive engineering every day. This is tire development at the highest level. And that’s exactly what we’ve been doing successfully here for 30 years, drawing on our wealth of experience.” – Edwin Goudswaard, head of R&D at Continental

Circular materials are an important building block for more sustainable mobility. They can help conserve resources and energy and contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. As the only tire manufacturer in the EU-funded ZEvRA EU Project, we have developed a concept tire with around 43% recycled materials, including recycled tall oil, steel, rubber from end-of-life tires, and polyester fibers made from recycled PET bottles. Together with around 13% renewable raw materials and around 25% mass-balance-certified materials, over 80% of the tire’s materials come from recycled, renewable or mass-balance-certified sources. The project explores how circular materials can be used in future tire generations and provides valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges of scaling circularity in tire production. These findings support our goal of increasing the share of purchased renewable and recycled production materials in our tires to at least 40% by 2030. Watch the video to learn more about the ZEvRA concept tire and the role of circular materials in the future of tire production.

Finding the right tire shouldn't feel like solving a puzzle. Hundreds of options, countless vehicle configurations, technical details to consider… we knew our customers needed a simpler way. That's why we redesigned the Tire Finder on our website. And it just earned us the Red Dot Design Award: Brands & Communication Design 2026 for "Continental Tire Finder: Making Fit Certainty Simple." Instead of optimizing isolated features, we listened to our customers through extensive user interviews. Then we reimagined four key touchpoints as one connected experience: Primary Navigation, Tire Size Search, Vehicle Search and the Search Results Page. 🔍 The result: an intuitive journey that helps drivers of all knowledge levels find the right tire in just a few clicks. A complex purchasing decision, turned into a simple experience – built around what our customers actually need. Test it yourself👉 https://bit.ly/4gaEJB5

Znacie to?

Two wheels, two contact patches – each no bigger than a €2 coin. 🪙 In the latest episode of The Continental Tires Garage, our bicycle tire expert Oliver Vauth joins our host Daniel to explore why bicycle tires are one of the most underestimated pieces of engineering. Bicycles do not have a heavy engine or complex suspension to absorb bumps and stabilize handling. Instead, the tires alone have to deliver grip, safety and control at speeds of up to 100 km/h on a Tour de France descent. To put that engineering to the test, they ride the tires on a custom-built "path of horrors" and reveal how layered puncture protection works like a safety net.
