Cozy Corner Nook with DIY Bench Seating

Create a corner nook with kitchen cabinets. To create this corner nook, I turned cabinets on their side with the door openings facing down. Remember that comfortable seating is typically no less than 15 inches deep. Hide the gap behind the cabinets by adding sides and a top. On this nook I added more height to the bench at the bottom by creating a 2" recessed riser for the cabinets to sit on. Photo credits for the photo on the wall: Jessica Ausura.
