Yellow Blooms...

Good morning everyone!

A new challenge starts today over at Try it on Tuesday and this time we want to see Summer Blooms on your project!

Today I have a colorful Art Journal Page to share with you :) To start- I created a watercolor wash/splatter background with Mustard Seed, Squeezed Lemonade and Lucky Clover DOI. Once dry I added some texture & shine using Crafter's Workshop Shimmery Goodness and MFT Confetti stencil.
The flowers and leaves were cut with MFT dies, colored with Squeezed Lemonade and Lucky Clover ink. Then I stamped the petals randomly with a script stamp and Mustard Seed ink. I used Dina Wakley's collage words for the sentiments and to finish it up I added black sequins to the flowers.
Now head on over to the main challenge blog and check out the fabulous creations by the other team members!

Thanks so much for stopping by and for the comments you leave.

Fall Friends...

Good morning everyone!

It's time for a new challenge at Sparkles Monthly and this month we want you to use your stencils... I love working with stencils! :)

I made a couple of cards and they feature the adorable 'Fall Friends' stamp set from My Favorite things. The images were colored with Copics, cut out with the coordinating dies and then I added a few highlights with a white Posca Pen. I used the same two stencils on each card- My Favorite Things Confetti stencil & Tim Holtz Burlap stencil.

On my first card I used Carved Pumpkin, Fossilized Amber & Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide inks for the background. I also mixed Carved Pumpkin ink with Viva Decor glitter paste to give my cards a little sparkle.
On my second card I stenciled Barn Door DOI through the burlap stencil instead of Gathered Twigs and I really like how it turned out! The Barn Door ink faded into a coral- pinkish color which gives this Thanksgiving card a feminine feel!
And here's a picture of how I finished the insides plus I stamped a row of birds across the bottom of an envelope :)
I hope you can join us and don't forget to pop on over to the main challenge blog to check out the rest of the teams beautiful cards!

Thanks so much for stopping by and for the comments you leave!

Good morning everyone!

Today I have a few cute and colorful cards to share... they feature several images from My Favorite Things 'Springtime Critters' stamp set.
They were stamped with black licorice ink, colored with Copics and cut out with the coordinating dies. I used MFT Sunrise Radiating Rays and Squeezed Lemonade distress ink for the background and the sentiment is from Reverse Confetti. The grass was cut with a Lawn Fawn die and I used Avery Elle dies for the stitched rectangles.
I've been trying to make several cards at a time with a quick and easy design in mind and I think these cards fit the bill :)

Nail Polish Art for Dad!

Good morning everyone!

Today starts a new challenge at Back to Basics and Beyond and this time we would like you to create a card/project using the Nail Polish Art Technique!

I've never used this technique before and had so much fun playing with my nail polish... I found this tutorial online- it was very easy to follow and she gives great tips.
I created my nail polish marbling with only two colors- a sky blue and lime green, two of my favorite colors. I really like how the lime green thinned out in some areas and turned a yellowish-green. I used a couple of Vera Lane Studio potted cactus plants again, colored them with Copics and fussy cut them out. I used Simon Says Stamp dies for the stitched rectangles and My Favorite Things dies for the sentiment.

I'm going to give this to my dad Sunday for Father's Day and I know he'll get a real kick out of it when I tell him that I used nail polish for the background! :)

That's it for now... thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to pop on over to the main challenge blog to check out the rest of the teams beautiful 'Nail Polish' creations!

thanks for being so Awesome

Hello everyone!

I've been working on 'thank you' cards to give to my local Ronald McDonald House so I thought I would pop in and share a few :) I kept the design pretty simple because I wanted to make several and this is what I came up with...
The cute Doodle Bloom flowers are from My Favorite Things, I colored them with Copics and cut them out with the coordinating dies. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches and for the backgrounds I used Simon Says Stamp Grid stencil and Wilted Violet & Broken China Distress inks. Both panels were cut with Avery Elle dies and to finish them up I added sequins and a little detailing with a white Posca pen.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for the comments you leave... I'll see you soon!

Today starts a new challenge at Back to Basics and Beyond and this time we have a recipe for you to follow... 1 image - 2 colors - 3 gems, pearls or jewels.
My card features a cute image from Bugaboo Stamps and I wanted to use pink and white for my 2 colors so I kept the Copic coloring to a minimum and this image is perfect for that! The sentiment is from Penny Black and the fun rabbit paper is from Echo Park. The sentiment on the front of the card is from My Favorite Things along with the heart dies.

Hugs...

Good morning everyone!

Today starts a new challenge at Cardz 4 Galz and this time we would like to see a dimensional element on your card.

To start- I stamped a piece of peach colored kraft cardstock with My Favorite Things Make Your Mark background stamp and VersaMark ink. I love this assorted kraft colored paper pack from Hobby Lobby because a few of the colors are so light you can really see all of the tiny fibers in them like you do in my card!
Anyway... All MFT images were stamped with black licorice ink, colored with Copics and then cut out with the coordinating dies. I stamped the flower twice so I could pop-up the center portion with foam tape along with the butterflies and I cut the Simon Says Stamp sentiment three times so I could layer it. You can see the dimension better in the picture below and the rest of the supplies used for this card are listed at the bottom of this post :)
