New Year - Dec 26th-31st

Dec 26th

I found the perfect spot for my sign! Beware when entering my quilting place!!! 😘

Well I think I've prepped enough bindings for my Quilt Canada donations and time to get back to my quilting. I've four fabrics basically 1.5 metres each for a total of 3,607 inches, but the two stripes are split by shorter and longer pieces cut on the bias, the two brown/green started off cut on the straight of grain but then switched to cut on the bias and the brown just straight of grain. Hopefully they will be matched where needed!

Dec 27th

Well Sylvia did another easy puzzle in a few hours and said to bring one of mine over.  So today I picked her up and we went for quesadillas at Southdale Family Village Restaurant and I took over 3 of my new quilting ones and decided to start on the sewing machine tin one! Gosh they are small pieces but at least odd ball shapes and seems to be good quality pieces to work with. So we started and actually a couple hours in we made a good dent in it!!!

My baby won't stay clean long in this shit!!!

Dec 28th

Up and attem, took Edna shopping, picked up treats and flowers for us before heading over for borscht lunch and pizza/wine supper sleep over! Some sewing too!

Well that's a wrap for my hand pieced tumblers made from donated 1.5" squares into rows (didn't even make a dent in the bagful). Once pressed I'll stitch the rows together and assemble and hand quilt it too! This is 7" x 9.5" so might need another row or two once rows are joined to make a rectangular quilt.

WOW!!! After replacing ONE parka zipper I totally refuse to do anymore. So this is on my feed so I know where to go next time!!!

Dec 29th

I saw this for the first time last year while having supper with Nancy at Cibo's, I was distracted many times but especially on a couple of slips, thankfully harnessed!!!

My picture taken last year.

Dec 31st

To my family and friends wishing you a

Kinda a nice end to 2024 with a visit with Edna and then over to Sylvia's for puzzle setting and Santa Lucia pizza supper while listening to the Jr Hockey game. Too bad Canada lost to USA!!! We finished my Singer sewing one and switched to Sylvia's folksy huge one but forgot to take a picture! We'll be doing that one for awhile!!! Now home and to watch the Jets hockey game. AND caught the fireworks but my pics weren't their best!

But 2025 will be a bit iffy as I have to report to MPI as the person I firmly bumped (no crashing and no major damage to either vehicles) in November put in an accident claim. First letter was sent Dec 2nd which as yet I've not received and a firm reprimanding letter sent Dec 19th was received today! I'll call in Thursday to make an appointment.

2019 Year End!

Dec 28th

Ohhhh Angie these boys are goofballs!  And Wheels won't share toys with Grif!  I had to pull back my feet, wasn't sure if they would be snagged up too.  Then he switched to the poor hedgehog!!!!  Fifteen minutes and he walked away and all's quiet again!  Definitely a younster's attention span.  😂😂😂

Dec 30th

Finally slow walking at the mall!  Slow and stopped once I felt I was achey.  Now to Wok Box for lunch.  YUMMY!!!

I think I've decided on my projects to pack for my European River Cruise In June.  Both are small and limited supplies needed, so if I'm kept busy great and if not I've handwork to keep me occupied!

Hmmmmm!!!!!

Dec 31st

I took a break from watching the Jr hockey games recorded and planned out the increased sizes for the 5 Yard Quilt pattern.  So using my fabrics I then cut out actual finished sized pieces and assembled with tape on the back so I could see the block itself along with the second block and borders.  I can say I'm truly relieved it'll work to show off the fabrics the ladies chose as the smaller sizes sure didn't. Next hopefully approved to go fabric shopping and pray there still are these fabrics locally!

Sample of 5 Yard quilt blocks n border.

Second pieced block.

First block that may or may not have the yellowish borders.

This will be the back of the cushion covers with the previous RCMP block on front.

I'm going to try live an easier, happier and less stressful time in 2020 and for years ahead!  Life is too short for anything else!

Ricky said it awesomely with this image.

Happy New Year everyone!

December 9th & 10th

Dec 9th

Dang it!!!!!  I did it again, slammed my second smallest toe on my left foot into my quilting case, it's not broke, just bruised and hurts like HELL!!!  😢

Yeah guess I should listen to inside shoe wearing advice!  🤣🤣🤣  I'm a barefoot girl even outside but these digits are paying the price.  I've only 2 toes on each foot that hasn't been broken or like this one bruised!  Now the two little toes on each foot, now they will all match!

Dec 10th

I'm felling blessed!

Hope the magic of Christmas makes your spirit merry and bright. 🕯🕊

May the sights and sounds of this lovely holiday season bring lasting memories to brighten the new year ahead. 🌲☃️🎶🎉

Wishing you all warm and friendly wishes for a very Merry Christmas 🎄 and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year 🎉!

Love and Hugs, Rose Anne 🤗💞

Starting Something New!

OK I came across a new stitching group "1 Year of Stitches: 2017" and decided to join up.  Basically it's a free for all gather your fabric, hoop, thread, stitches resource books etc, your ideas and do a type of stitch each and every day and you post weekly to the FB group but daily in your own FB or Blog.  Well I'm a might behind as I'm house sitting but going home soon to gather my items for this next week.   I did draw up some ideas so will see what develops.

Also yesterday I bought this book from a friend after being inspired by my friend's daughter  Valérie and her beautiful gift to her Mom Linda.  Inside are many that I love but these are ones I've chosen - in order of preference and hopefully ones I can master with my limited knitting skills too.  Also I told Valerie not to buy this book as I know Linda is going to Montreal in 2017 and will deliver it to her to enjoy too!!!  A small gift for her appreciation of my show n tell while here for Christmas.

Feeling Blessed!

It's a lovely morning and Katsu was a very good boy after yesterday's craziness outside and inside where he unbalanced me into the kitchen bannister leaving me with a huge bruise on my shoulder blade.   Lucky I didn't go backwards into the basement.  Yep today was nice so I joined my friend Mary at St Peters Anglican Church for a New Years Day service.  Lovely.  Then soon I'm off to my Northern Lights Lacemakers meeting.  Oh and here's the tube scarf Edna gave me!  And back home for more walks and lots of hockey to watch.
