New Year's Eve

Dec 30th

Ohhh not sure if it's a full moon or it's this cold spell that's to blame, it's not extra treats or different foods from me!  They are in and out, briefly and often!

Crazy Griffin got me up an hour after I fell asleep, he had gone dnstrs???  So called him up and he ran to the door.  Yeppers all had to go again, guess they really didn't finish before coming in before bed.  Then 3am he was prancing around again and yep out for a poop!  Guess this cold is playing havoc with being outside long enough to do all???

And yep I'm cranky today!  Having a coffee, feet up, watching Oilers/Blues retelevised hockey game!

Hmmmmm that's not all!

Ohhhh we have an issue!!! 🥴 WHY ME??? 🙄

I went down to mop hair off the stairs and check why Griff went down after bed last night and found a mess, cleaned up. Then went to clean off the hair into the bathroom bin and water everywhere, also in the laundry room. OH OH!!!! A different mop was needed, found the leak, turned off the toilet tap, mopped all up or pushed to the drain and some time later able to put my feet up and have a grilled cheese sandwich and another coffee. It does not show any damage on the brand new flooring, but I'm no expert!

Nope not owning property for me!!! 😉

Hopefully the rest of the visit is uneventful AND no more snow!!! Back to sewing to relax! 😊

Dec 31st

First off, 'Thank You' to Jane T. of Denmark for your lovely tatted heart and Snowflake along with your letter!  LOVE THEM!  I totally love these Fringe Tatters exchanges!

Secondly, Happy New Year's to everyone!  Here it's very cold and we've snow too!  Stay warm and safe from Covid too!  Celebrate smart!  💞💞💞

A sisterly New Year's Eve celebration with Peking Chinese (extras each for another meal)! Awesome!!! Now some puzzle time for awhile and maybe an evening shrimp cocktail snack!

Happy New Year's Eve to everyone from the both of us! 💞💞💞

WOW!!! I truly did not think I'd stay so late visiting and setting that puzzle tonight?  We got a lot more than this completed after our snack.

It was 11:20 when I noticed the time and we said Happy New Year to each other and I left.

As I neared home I realized it was close to midnight, so pulled in behind the Marion Shopping mall across from the Forks but only a few were set off then nothing! So went home instead!

Onto newer and better everything in 2022 for everyone!

Jan 1st

And today Sylvia took a picture of how far we got before being too tired to finish.  So close!!!

Let's  hope, wish and pray it's a much better 2022 for us, your family and friends and the World!  💞💞💞

Catchup - Feb 14th-17th

Feb 14th

Ohhhhh this was so much fun! I've mostly gone with Janice but also with Edna! This is what I'll miss this year!

Feb 15th

Yeah I've my fabric postcard ready to go into the mail tomorrow! It's nice to have a few semi ready card tops on hand as this was "Anything Goes" monthly theme! So this has duponi silk adhered to a sky like background and attached my tatted and beaded butterfly and dragonfly to this along with a tiny gold dragonfly charm. So all I had to do was prepare my computer printed back, sandwich it and satin stitch the edges! AWESOME!!!

Feb 16th

Yeah another snowflake completed, three more to tat and then bury ends and starch them all! This one is called Shama from my book Tatted Flurries by Sharon Briggs. I'm glad it's coming along smoothly as the mail seems yo have reverted to Pony Express! Yes I'm still waiting for a few envelopes to arrive from last year's international postings!

YEAH YEAH YEAH!!!! We bought her TWO caninets and managed to put ONE together before it did us both in. While on the floor bending inside I got a sharp hip cramp and went backwards without seeing what was behind me until it let go, we finished right after that and I said the other is for another day! It goes faster and easier with two working together. Gosh I'm loving the looks of her studio more and more!

I just listened to Brandy's podcast plus watched Brett's new Prairie Meadow unboxing video. Vibrant prints and colours! Awesome!

Feb 17th

It was awesome to finally get out for a short walk with Edna! The wind in the open was biting but in protected areas the sunshine was awesome! We both enjoyed it immensely!

Well I've pulled out another UFO to work on. I LOVE these fabrics and really want to finish this baby off for myself! It's a three ways to applique labyrinth blocks taught by Susan Selby at MPQ's Crocus Conference May 2017. During that class I had my Kenmore which was acting up and for some reason micro stitching on the reverse applique block. Now I know it's a combined issue of needing servicing plus more importantly, the feed dogs are wearing out.

So I've tried to undo the stitching to fix it, but literally impossible and wrecking the raw edges. Luckily I've found my fabric and the labyrinth pattern so when I get some instructions from Susan I'll redo this block and then sandwich and quilt it! YEAH!!!

Bonded, painted and reverse applique techniques.

Reverse applique I'm trying to "rippit" to redo!

Horrible!!!

December 21st - Zoo Lights

WOW, look at the details in the feathers! ❤

Had a lovely visit with Michelle this morning over coffee and Baileys.  Then this evening at Zoo Lights along with Janice, Marilyn, Cindy and Lisa visiting from Flin Flon - along with half of Winnipeg here too!  Lovely weather for walking about outside!

Janice's photo.

Either Cindy's or Janice's photo.

Janice:  Great pics Rose Anne, you captured the evening so well.  I am glad you took a pic of the crazy lineup to the entrance.  Wonderful way to spend the Winter Solstice.  Love the pics of the bear frolicking in the snow!

Cindy:  A Balmy Winterpeg evening brought thousands of people out to the Zoo Lights festival.  The moon was a hazy sliver in the sky on this winter solstice and the air full of joy and music.  In the crowd of so many I bumped into my son Devan Cleland who was with his family and in laws.  Our small group all ran into someone we knew and the extra hugs made the evening even more special.
