July 3rd

GRRRRR, my cursor on my laptop is so screwy I'm giving up and pray I can get info from the Hop On Hop Off Kiosk when I get to London.  I've screenshots so might be OK.  Most info was already printed thank GOD!!!  So most housework is done or will be by Wednesday between fun relaxing stuff.  And I've been visiting or taking Edna and Sylvia out and she's doing lots better which makes me feel somewhat relieved to be away.  Her girls are here to take her out and Edna said she'd bus over for visits, so hopefully all will continue to mend and she'll be up to road trips when I'm back!  😉

July 4th

Happy July 4th to my American friends! Enjoy your celebrations safely!!!

WOW, what a day! Started out putting laundry away, getting ready for a busy day when the caretaker dropped by to take out my faulty ceiling fan, replacing it with the block's fixture. YEAH, I got decent light finally in the bedroom! 

Then dropped off my laptop to Tom to hopefully fix the dancing cursor and screen freezing. He also so quickly turned on my Google Photos backup, switched my phone into it's new case and inserted Linda's loaned out neck cord so I don't drop it on my trip. Thank you Linda! 

And even got in some quick shopping before my appointment. Well an hour later Tom texts that he's fixed the laptop issue and mouse works nicely, next the hard drive backup! SHEESH!!! I said not to rush, but he loves computer tinkering!

Then for my much needed back massage but only half an hour - boy did I feel cheated instead of my usual hour, sometimes even get a snooze in!!! 

After this I fought rush hour traffic to Angela's for burgers and deep fried fries done on the BBQ with coleslaw! But the weather didn't cooperate to eat outside. She's an awesome cook!!! Thank you I needed that quiet time!

July 5th

Well I've my selfie stick connected and tested too!

Lunch with Edna at Montana's, but not at her choice of Tony Romas (not open for lunch). Still a delish meal of ribs!

OMGG!!! I totally FORGOT to take a picture of Pat, Sylvia and I while at Boston Pizza at supper tonight! Dang it!!! I showed off my new camera case etc then put it away!!!

Anyways, I think I'm ready!!! Housework done, well as much as I'm doing, and all packed up ready for an easy morning before my ride to the airport 11ish. I'm not keen on leaving Sylvia and Edna for 3 weeks, but sure family and friends will check on them or keep them occupied in my absence! 😉 Time will fly fast and then I'll be back home!!!  

Anyways time to anticipate "ENJOYING MY NEW ADVENTURES" and hopefully new friends too!!!

I'm relaxing with the 'crew' for a few days and watching junior hockey till the NHL this evening.  Cheers, especially to Cindy stuck in Cuba wanting to come home!!!

Okay my big baby, Wheeler, may have tweeked his paw and is limping, Mom knows, and now he's trying to soak up some up close sympathy, just about nose to nose!  He's never been this close to me unless all are horsing around and vying for head rubs!  I feel for him but if I let him onto my lap the others will too and I'd be a gonner!!!  Look at that face!!!

Here's the latest!  And the others are whining off and on too!  SHEESH!!!

OOOOHHHHHH!!!  I totally ❤️❤️❤️❤️ this even with the missing "P" in SELF-EXPRESSION , at least I think that was the word!

OOOHHHH MYYYYY!!!  Lots on this street order online for delivery!  I've seen in the last hour Amazon, Purolator (even a car full of packages delivering) and a FedEx go past.  I'm waiting for an UPS to stop here today too.  Hmmm wonder how many more will go by and those stopping nearby get the dogs a barking madly!  How dare people use their street!!!  😃😃😃

OMGG!!!!  I think this is the WORST ever of Christmas travel horror stories I've ever heard!  Okay I totally understand the weather is putting major damper on people's plans which honestly cant be helped, but in some cases airline staffing and communication issues are just not NICE at all.  Guess I'm very happy I didn't step up to last minute Christmas travel or I'd be still stuck in Cuba and GOD knows what Angie would have done!  

Hmmmm this is kind of worrying me for future trips I'm planning!  But definitely I will avoid major holidays for travel as there's always some kind of labour dispute etc planned by someone at this time.  And I know I've no patience for such nonsense!!!

Dec 30th

Ohhhh the snow bank is still hanging on but outwards more than upright! 

See more shrunken but from the outside up it's close to a foot overhanging.  How it's still there I don't know! 

It's  letting go from the window too!

Well I got back home 11:30pm yesterday and had to get my sister's car out of the overnight parking spot lent to me by 7:30am.  So decided I may as well get ready and pick Sylvia up for an early yummy breakfast, picked up my laptop and while out took us shopping!  We stopped at The Thrift Store where I bought two 50% off Christmas items and Sylvia found an awesome floor lamp for $13 (just needs a nicer shade), then London Drugs - zippo and finished off at Walmart where Sylvia found a smaller crock pot at a good price and two lamp shades she liked - I got a ceramic heater for my sewing room and both of us quilt marking pens for $2.97 - WOW!!!

Then finished off with lunch at the new WOK BOX on Dakota before heading for Sylvia's to unload and me the bus back home!  An awesome day that's for sure!!!  But I'm pooped!!!!

Dec 31st

Let's hope 2023 will be healthier, happier and maybe even wealthier for all of us!  Be as kind as you can to all!  

I'm hoping to get in some sewing before heading over to Sylvia's to play games, finger food treats and watch the earlier time zone New Year's Eve celebrations!

Earlier today I was in the sewing room and needed more light so opened the curtains and this frosty view greeted me!

Sylvia, Kristen and I had a lovely visit, played Rummikub and enjoyed potluck finger food.  Lovely evening but we sure missed Edna who was visited with sniffles, not fun bussing it, trying to enjoy company when not 100%.

Got home in time for the 10 pm Legislative Bldg fireworks!

Oh oh!!!!  I'm not happy that my Blogger is screwing with my adding a new post!  My phone had a recent update and DAMN I hate when it messes some routine functions afterwards!  I've googled and cleared my cache etc and still it's not behaving.  Scanned and no threats.  What gives!  Even restarted my phone too!  Guess I'll try my laptop tomorrow and see if that works!  GRRRRR!!!!  

Well my tablet is working properly for this post!!!!

Ohhhh my snow has piled up even higher. Wonder if more will accumulate or if it will topple off and start again? These windows are creating a pointed ridge compared to the older windows that had a more wider shape.

Okay! Started off with a good phone chat with my dietician before braving the outdoors! Again thank you Adele for sprucing me up and adding some sparkle to my being! I love leaving your place feeling awesome!!! Then a shopping return and Pizza Hut pick up before checking out this WOW!!! shop and finding something for Christmas too! Lovely lady running the shop too!

YEAH I've finished off my year end appointments today! Hopefully that's it for a couple of weeks at least! It's no fun heading out when the weather is nasty! But I did pick up a block heater cord for my baby so hope this one won't stiffen up like the one I was using since I LOST or misplaced my good one somehow over the summer. Okay I'm staying home till Christmas dinner out!!! 🤗 🎄 ☃️

Dang it! I was shutting down my laptop after sending my Christmas email out to friends n family and made Astro's card when updates flashed on and then flashed off again! Yep the crappy error loop started and even with Tom's help by email n phone didn't help. So it'll be dropped off, while on my way to Christmas dinner not far, at Tom's tomorrow for his magic touch again after the holidays! Dang updates!!!!!

So today I'm quilting my spiral table topper! Taking a break for my salad, herring in tomato sauce and crackers with a glass of wine! Pictures to follow!

Relaxing with window lights on and alternating watching movies and hockey while having my supper! I just realized that the sunshine has kinda shrunken this intimidating snow ridge out my window. Maybe it'll fall off sooner than later?

Ohhhh and I finished quilting my own spiral table topper that Sylvia helped planning the design on this and the smaller one gifted to Edna.

WOW we made it for regional coverage!!!

There I've caught up with my Christmas gifts! Now to finish off the last few to be dropped off!

YEAH!!!! My Tommy is so handy and very knowledgeable or will Google for more help for technology issues! He stopped by just now while on family errands nearby and took maybe 15 minutes and had my laptop up and running again. Seems there was an update that shut my baby down (similar to his earlier) and he knew the steps to restart it! Once going he checked the updates and one had done just that but now resumed and finished successfully! 💞 to Tom!!!!

Well all my presents are delivered! Then picked up Edna and we went to Fabricland for treats, then KFC and back to her place to eat and wine visit!

I'm home, fiddled with a few decorations and now relaxing with feet up!

Thank you very much to Byran for treating Pat, Sylvia and I to an evening of Christmas lights viewing! Beautiful displays but sorry my pictures were pretty bad and majority were blurry. It's amazing some of the displays that were erected either in Lindenwoods area or at the RRX Winter Wonderland!
