Catchup - July 26th-30th

July 26th

Ohhhh WOW!!!  It's still true!  Mid-August will be 7 years ago!!!!  I just love this picture, caption should be "I'm enjoying life on top of the world"!
Past couple years the "living in Covid times" sometimes yucky trials, but lots of good too!
Next week to Churchill!
Next year onto a European River Cruise!
After that who knows, maybe an Alaskan quilting cruise or Eastern Canada visit?

July 27th

Belated Happy Birthday to Edna!
Slowly but surely we made it!
Sylvia and I out with Edna!
Montana's on Empress.

Awesome ideas for your fence?

July 30th

I just saw this on Facebook and sharing as not sure but I do know my friends and automatically delete new friend requests without other notice from recipient!

ATTENTION, ATTENTION !
People, you are getting CLONED NOT HACKED!!! Changing your password does NOTHING! Heads-Up!! Almost every account is being cloned. One of Your pictures and your name are used to create a "new" Facebook Account. (They don't need your password to do this). They want your friends to add them to their accounts. Your friends will think that it's you and accept your request. From that point on they can write what they want under your name.
I have NO plans to open a new account!!

Still Purging

Jan 9th

Okay maybe some fun time today as I'm kinda sore from the past couple of days purging and moving stuff around etc!

So here's some gathered supplies for my next fabric postcard for swapping!  I still need to find one each of white and green sequins and green metallic thread!  Won't be showing the progress until the 15th, just in case the recipient is my FB friend!  😉  I like keeping it a surprise!

Well at least I KNOW these new windows are doing the job! There are no drafts or huge drop in temperature a couple feet away like the old ones in the livingroom. I can go right up to the window before I feel a slight chill! Awesome! Now the bedrooms are still slightly cooler though, my bedroom is OK but the sewing room I need socks n shoes on as the floor is much cooler. Oh well, at least I'm not forced to cover them with plastic anymore or have holes in the screens and flying insects joining me!

Jan 10th

OMGG I'm a happy camper, but inside, not outside!  😆😉
See my Amazon deliveries arrived sooner than expected.  I'm very happy with my embroidery book and TOTALLY LOVE my wired tree to show off my tatting!  Now the table top tree can go into storage too with the others!

Love the patterns inside for my CQing and fabric postcards.
💖💖💖

💖💖💖

This special tree is a Christmas gift from Darlene, a special dear friend from my working days, that I ordered!  Thank you very much Darlene, something I'll always remember you when hanging my new tatting!
Hmmmm seems like this place may be shaping up to show off my creativity!  🤗

OMGG!!! I just can't stop now that I've started and feeling really achey and tired! I'm very glad I had part of the afternoon off puzzle setting at Sylvia's.

It's coming along nicely but really slowly!

Today I decided to change my oil paintings around, so took the trees n stream down and hung the field n daisies one up. Then pulled out one of my retirement gifts and hung the lovely sunflowers up in the entrance, brightens it up.

Over my table now.

In the entrance now.

This one put away for now.

This one still covering the breaker box!

Then I packed up all my Christmas decor away and continued to purge more and unpacked one desk supplies box into my filing cabinet. That's for another time as that area is so disorganized and things I need can't find!
So my wagon of purged stuff has grown and the trolley loaded up too! That's it enough for one load! Top 2 boxes are for recycle bin first off!

Now in my chair feet up even too tired to head for bed! 😂😂😂

Weekend Sew In Days

Feb 26th

WOW we finished our walk just before lunch - no snow and a beautifulday! I'm sure she is up to more walks in here, maybe from John Bruce next time instead of Shorehill. Then picked up McDs and back to Sylvia's to set up for tomorrow's MPQ sew in day. We're both working on ABC crib quilts! Now it's winter white out again!

Feb 27th

Awesome MPQ Sew In Day but ohhhhh boy it sure did us both in! Sylvia added on side borders first and then both of us quilted them. Sylvia even stitched on her binding but I sprayed my top to remove the markings, ready to finish off tomorrow! Neither of us were lucky this time on draws, we share!

Look at the snow!

I'm using my retirement gift after a very long siesta!

Using my newest toy, "Get a Grip With Jaws", gift basket item.

Clamshell inside panel quilting.  Should have done it straight across - learning curve!

Diamond quilting to represent the ballerinas on their toes.  First ballerina quilt.

Feb 28th

It was awesome to go back to Sylvia's today to finish off our ABC quilts, just the bindings left to finish! This time we both slept in and I brought a frozen pizza for lunch, besides yesterday's humus and cranberry goat cheese with crackers and mixed fresh fruits. Sylvia baked flaky cinnamon buns too!

Anyways I squared and sewed the binding on mine from yesterday and Sylvia worked on her second ballerina quilt. I then quilted the pieced boys top (from the virtual retreat) and Sylvia planned out another panel for an ABC crib quilt before we shut down and I packed up to head home for supper. I learnt a lot working with Sylvia again and she totally enjoyed the weekend.

I'm totally excited how this quilt is turning out!

Second ballerina quilt!

I LOVE it!

And the back too!

We even had wildlife entertainment today!

Catchup - Oct 19th-22nd

 Oct 19th

It was a very easy ride back yesterday with less and less snow visible as we approached Manitoba, highway was dry - that was good. I had a relaxing night and now going to catch up on the few mask orders and cut out the towel tops too. Tomorrow hopefully pull out/photograph my winter and Christmas fabrics, prep linings for mask orders and pack those for Friday's return to Dryden. Yes, I'm taking Sylvia back, prepping a few more radio website classifieds and help pack more for moving and recycle. Hopefully all that will be left is her kitchen and clothes while waiting to see if the house sells! 🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍🤗🤗🤗

Oct 21st

Guess the trying to snow yesterday turned into it's closer to winter than we want it to be yet! I just hope it's not the sticking around type as yet, I've more travelling in store this week!

Sylvia and I were just saying how much we miss the interaction of sewing friends at our quilting retreats this year! And what pops up from memories is South Beach Quilt Retreat frim 2016.  Soon we might have smaller family/friends day retreats in her gathering room once she's moved in, hopefully sooner than later!

Two days and I kinda caught up on my orders, winter/Christmas ones left to plan out yet. But I finished off these for Barb n Pat, Angela n Joan's friends and two special orders from Adele's clients. Now I've printed off my tatting pattern for the December exchange and cutting out the dress towel tops Linda ordered. Also a couple of special masks and scrub cap for Edna. These are for down time back at Sylvia's between packing again! 🤗🤗🤗

Oct 22nd

I can't believe I've let this happen! This baby has been sitting not used for a very long time! I'm probably going to have to read the manual again before starting it up again! SHEESH!!!!

Let's hope this will be a good day!

It was an awesome fall day to gather for a very small family Celebration of Life for Leonard, my brother-in-law! The service was very nice, the girls all did a lovely portrayal of his life and the wonderful powerpoint presentation of his life was a lovely ending to the service! The graveside internment was only for Sylvia and the girls. I was thankful to stay well back during the service and with zoom capabilities I did get a few pictures and afterwards was allowed to step forward to say farewell too! ❣

All the immediate family, except 2 yr old Astro.
