Berlin musician and DJ Nastia Reigel presents her debut solo album, Identity, out September 26th on Function’s legendary Infrastructure New York imprint.

Following a constant output of EPs on heavy-hitting techno labels like fabric, Rødhåd’s WSNWG and Token, and playing regularly at the likes of Berghain, Reigel now returns with new music that pushes deep into the core of her craft. She has honed and sharpened her sound into something sleeker and more uninhibited.

Last fall when she crossed paths with Function (Dave Sumner), the mutual admiration was instantaneous and they developed a reciprocal appreciation for each other's creative output. Upon hearing the immediacy of her demos, Sumner didn’t just want a 12-inch; he proposed to work on a full-length Identity. The result now serves as solid evidence that she’s intentionally pushing the label forward into new places.

It’s no surprise that Sandwell District championed the album early on — nearly every track showed up in their sets and podcasts, marking Nastia Reigel as a new favorite artist of techno’s most influential collective.

“Identity is a crystallization of my sound — both as a producer and as a DJ”, she elaborates. “Created with the dancefloor in mind, these tracks carry the weight of sonic influences I’ve absorbed over time, yet come together into something personal — a reflection of how I hear techno, how I approach production, and what DJing means to me.”

The album embodies the core of Nastia’s production DNA, showcasing her as a powerful and precise engineer. Beyond being a radiant and visionary artist, Nastia is a skilled producer at the top of her game, having worked on the album’s mixdown by herself. These eight new tracks all offer something distinct and carry her unmistakable signature. Refusing to follow trends, she carves out her own timeless path. Her sound is functional yet emotionally charged, aimed at adapting to the night’s shifting energy. Much like human identity itself, the album explores contrasting layers of tension, groove and mood, oscillating from hypnotic rollers to peak time intensity with ease. It is both a personal artistic statement and a DJ-ready toolkit.

Alongside her dancefloor output, Reigel works on her post-punk alias Rosa Damask. Critically acclaimed, her last album on Regis’s seminal label Downwards culminated in her track ‘Bored’ soundtracking Versace’s FW25 runway in Milan. Her live set at Morphine Raum became a viral impact amassing above 200k views in a month – no promo, just pure, unfiltered love for music. Discovered organically by fans and spontaneously growing since.

Nastia’s ability to translate the music’s hypnotic energy into visual language comes through in the video for End Up Here, the first single of the album. Pulsating strobes, shadowy close-ups, and raw emotional release mirror the track’s haunting vocal textures and driving rhythm. It distills the very essence of the club night, where body and sound move as one. “I aimed to blend the sonic and visual experience of being on the dancefloor,” she explains, “to dissolve into the sound, become part of it, and let it carry you.”
