On NIGHT SHIFT, Neighborhood Brats’ first release since 2014 is a return to original form without repeating or compromising the past. The A side title track is a first-rate NB classic, paying homage to the RUNAWAYS, STOOGES and the SAINTS. Side B features a collaborative writing effort by vocalist JENNY ANGELILLO and guitarist GEORGE RAGER, in an AVENGERS meets RADIO BIRDMAN slammer. Captivated by an NPR story of WWII-era COMFORT WOMEN and echoing the current #MeToo movement, Angelillo shouts “I’m not the one,” implicitly stating FUCK THAT SHIT TO SEXISM AND THE PATRIARCHY.
