Flirting (in a non-committal fashion) with Blogtoberfest

It appears that I'm blogging on a daily basis, even though I didn't sign up for Blogtoberfest (because I couldn't possibly make that sort of commitment..!?). It might be that I actually have something to say, like "I made a new version of the Day Bag...."

Or it could be, that with school holidays being what they are, I'm happy to get at least ONE work-related(ish) thing done in a day, even if that's just a late-night blog post.

So anyway, I made a new Day Bag (over the last week) and I got a blog post written today.

Who'd a thunk it?

EDITED TO ADD: Yes, I love the fabric, too. It was originally purchased at GJ's a couple of years ago for a table runner I made for a friend. In rather typical style*, when they told me it was the last two or three metres on the bolt, I bought the lot. It was also the feature panel on one of the original A-Line skirts (that became my A-line skirt pattern) and there's a teensy bit left for another project.

*A sure-fire way to make me buy twice as much fabric as I originally intended, is to say, "Oh, that's the last of it". I'm terrified of being caught without enough to finish something and will (almost without exception) say, "I'll take it all". (There's a tip for all you fabric-sellers....)

A toe dipped in Blogtoberfest

The theme for today's Blogtoberfest post is "self portrait".  I haven't had much time to be blogging lately - least of all festing -  but I did a few scribbly doodles today, as I worked my way through the upteenth re-working of the book manuscript.

Things got very dark and scribbly, indeed.... and I realised that I am living proof of the "use it or lose it" theory when it comes to drawing.

..So I got the camera out after I finished (I hope) the edits.... and realised that the same theory applies to my understanding of the camera's timer function.

Eventually... finally....we have a self-portrait.... finished.

Hopefully the same will be said about this book one day.

Blogtoberfestin'

Big Cat has organised a party.... a MONTH LONG festival of BLOG.

Ok... so far so good. A post per day so far this month for me.

We have a BUTTON!!

Festive mood... working on it (..while I dye my hair, Photoshop images for my website, hang out the washing, draw on the backyard concrete in chalk with a small child... eat last night's leftover pizza...write this post...). Well, maybe this house is a little too crazy to feel festive right now. I'll let you know how we get on with that.

German language... none. I have a smattering of Indonesian and Irish Gaelic. Is that any use?

Giveaways... thought I'd have something ready by now but it's been a crazy week. Watch this space. There are a few new patterns in the works. Check out all the other players in the meantime...

Slan go foill! (I told you it was useless!)
