From my studio on the third storey in Brunswick, yesterday's storm looked ominous as it approached the city and swept over us. The sky was almost purple. I didn't take any photos but I've been scrolling through the photos in The Age today. Wowee. Glad I wasn't outside!
I'm happy to say there was no damage here except for a lump on the man of the house's head. He was hit by a hailstone as he ran between the back door and his studio (a few feet from the back door).
More bad weather predicted for this afternoon has meant that I've cancelled plans to drive to the country to see my parents. Looks like it'll be a wild weekend... spent at home.

Got the pool in at last
Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa - Swimming Pool
Originally uploaded by Official Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa
The wee girl and her Daddy built a cubby-house out of her old cot (I say nothing about it being a perfectly good cot that may have been useful to another family.... encourage creativity, encourage creativity....).
The wee one was in charge of interior design and art. That's a portrait of "Daddy with the Very Hungry Caterpillar" and one of "B.Barry" (her toy frog that disappeared some time ago but has by no means been forgotten).
And now it has an indoor pool. Luxury, I tell ya! The main house is surely (and sorely) lacking in that department.
Note to self: Buy winning lottery ticket or move to the antarctic craft colony by next summer.....

Welcome to Sunny Melbourne!
We've had a visitor these last few days - all the way from Antarctica.
An icy blast to make us forget any thoughts we may have had of Spring and sunshine. A damn good excuse to wrap up in layers and layers of wool and wear my "Tara" brooch (by the super-talented Sam Beardon from Galway, Ireland).
The wee girl had an unexpected day out with an auntie today. I sat in front of the computer, drank tea (while it was hot) and felt cosy. A day's work was done and I didn't notice the weather.
And I've nothing to show you for it.
