Freedom, renewal, revival, release. ‘Reimagining’ is true to its name: a reinvention of Rita Bass. Across four offerings, Rita crafts her unique style of moody dance music. Marked by chopped breaks and warm basslines, sweeping pads and Rita’s layered vocal harmonies: this is ethereal bass. 'Kalinka' opens with an enchanting take on dubstep rhythms, a reinterpretation of the iconic Russian folk song of the same name. Venturing deeper and darker, ‘bassbassbass’ turns to a ravey 2-step groove. The title track ‘Reimagining’ is emotional jungle designed for sunrise catharsis, featuring harp flourishes by Genevieve Fry. Wobbling, glitchy, experimental bass weapon ‘Leah’ - named after Rita’s grandmother - closes the EP with electric energy.
