1.
Came on a frozen time you fell so hard Came on a frozen time bound by scars Love only can survive where we are Love only can survive If you forget my name Reached for a warmer sound and found you there Humming a restless melody An easy pair Love only can survive Anywhere Love only can survive If you forget my name
2.
It was the last of our shadow Disperse the cloud covering It was the last of our shadow Found a release today It’s been five years never too late Because there’s nothing left to say I’m done with hiding Scared to let my life be seen The guilt was choking me It was the last of our shadow Loose the hold it had on me It was the last of our shadow Found a release today It’s been five years never too late Because there’s nothing left to say Carried this too long Trying to make your landing soft I tried anyway Felt only fair to you I lose myself in all I do I came to find a way back to me Only wanted Lay it on the line for you But there’s nothing left to say Okay
3.
For Now 07:01
Carefully Don’t break it now I found something Can’t believe I believe Want to be Alone with you Could it be You’re falling to Any given night I try I try Is there somewhere I can go to settle Tried to run it out I tried I tried Then I had a thought, you’re falling Would I be right Would I be right Would I be Any given night I try I try Try to break it down Tried to run it out I tried I tried Then it seemed to me, you’re falling Would I be right Would I be right Would I be Ah for now Ah for now it’s right For now you’ll do
4.
Haunted 01:30
I had to sort it out Feelings pouring out And what had happened to The life I shared with you I’m still haunted I’m still haunted I’m still haunted I’m still haunted
5.
You, an island, you are You, an island, you are You, you are An arm that reaches out An arc that leads me home
6.
Love came first Ate the next Spit the rest out Can you even imagine Where this could end Called a fool for wanting Something to Sink into Swallow me whole Can you even imagine Where this could end Called a fool for wanting
7.
In dreams Us again Swimming out Moonlighting you Your warmth Fills my whole world Still living In my dreams Holding onto everything Nothing can escape me In my dreams On your knees Pulling weeds Dirty cheeks And driving south Windows down Mixtape loud In my dreams Nothing can escape me Holding on to everything In dreams
8.
Lay all the blame aside I’ll be there for you Lay all the pain you hide Still I’ll be there for you Gave me reason why Fell for it every time Lay all the blame aside I’ll be there for you Lay all the pain you hide Saying a prayer for you Gather the ones you hate I’ll burn all the letters in their names Turn to the dark I live for the night And lean into love like that Love is like that

about

An immersive listen, steeped in catharsis and sonic healing, 'Self-soothing' was born as a coping response to anxiety, self-doubt, and the ongoing horrors of the outside world. "Everything can be falling apart all around me and the piano will ground me," Nona says. The hymnal simplicity at the core of each song is articulated with deep emotional and sonic acuity, at times both meditative and restless, a singular yet unifying reflection. "This is a very personal record. I felt very selfish making it. Self-indulgent. It touches on feelings of guilt and shame after a long-term relationship ended, on remembering friends who died too young, on toxic love in friendship and romance, on hopeful feelings of creating and living in a fantasy. These songs are a weighted blanket that comforted and supported me in a lonely time. I hope that they can be supportive, comforting to others."
