work in progress

Here we all are at Life Drawing. Working hard. Being an artist doesn't get easier... it just veers and swerves like you're driving along a winding road! Fun, but keep your hands on the wheel!
Also, a pic from yesterday's show which went great. Lots of awesome artists and great weather for November(!)so lots of walk through traffic. Happy with my sales and very inspired by the many heart felt compliments.

Our life drawing sessions have moved to a wonderful new studio that has great lighting and lots of space! I was worried about the change but a fresh location created a new energy in all of us.

lost in thought

I love watercolour because it's about drawing and, as usual, I've left all my pencil marks that show my process. This is another one from this week's life drawing session.

One of my many New Year's Resolutions is to paint animals. I thought this wonderful Mountain Sheep was the perfect place to start.  The reference photo is from the website WetCanvas which supplies artists with photos.

cul-de-sac

Well. This piece changed a million times as I painted it. What a battle! But, I like it.

if wishes were horses

I am the Featured Artist at the Daily Paintworks News Blog this week! The interview questions really helped me think about my art, where I am and where I want to go.

back on track

A friend of mine at Trafalgar asked me to sit at their Italy Tour promotional booth and be a  "Venetian painter", like on the streets in Italy. It was so fun! A few people came right up and said hello but mostly they just peeked over my shoulder.
