BREWED ICED TEA

$100 - 6x6" original oil painting on 1/4" cradled panel.

The first thing I did, before painting this, was brew some hot tea. And, due to the steamy looking night in this piece, I decided that was a good title. #heehee

6x6" original oil painting on 1" deep cradled panel. Sides painted.

I love pink and brown together and I thought... can I make the clouds pink and brown... will it work? So, I went for it and I'm super happy that I did. This is the advantage of painting small and often - ya' try things!

Then I decided to paint it in the usual colours but putting as much colour into the greys as possible.

just calm

$60 - 5x7"original watercolour painting with acid-free 8x10"mat.

It's cloudy today so my mood took me in this direction. I'm trying to respond to the colours, which I put down first, when adding the simple pen lines. Previously, I've always drawn before painting and this reverse process is really stretching my artist muscles.

the walk home

$40 - 5"x7"painting with 8"x10"mat.
I painted this urban sketch for the DailyPaintworks 'Cloud' Challenge. I love to capture a moment in time, which is what clouds are all about!

I jumped way out of my comfort zone to draw from my imagination, with the heavy rain clouds as my inspiration.
