President Obama's sister: HILO, Hawaii - The inaugural Aloha Peace Prize was bestowed on Dr. Maya Soetoro-Ng by the United Nations Association of the Big Island on Saturday. Tomorrow is World Peace Day. On this morning every year, the UN Headquarters in New York rings the Peace Bell, which was cast from coins donated by children from all continents and gifted by the United Nations Association of Japan. How cool is that? The bell embodies the aspiration for peace, and to me it's a reminder that we belong to each other in that we must be responsible for our words, thoughts, and actions towards one another every day with an open heart to the best of our ability. The most valuable possession you can own is an open heart. The most powerful weapon you can be is an instrument of peace.
