Rosslyn chapel, Scotland. One of the many Masonic carvings in the Chapel. Hanging upside down and bound with rope, this is the fallen angel Lucifer. It is one of the depictions of angels in unusual positions in the Chapel which are significant in the rites of Freemasonry. *site own description

Rosslyn Chapel is one of the most famous religious sites of Scotland, made even more famous in the past few years by the Da Vinci Code novel. An architectural wonder: although it was never completely finished, it has impressive features such as a sculptured ceiling of stars, roses and a dove with an olive branch ( a symbol of the Knights Templar). The skill and art in the stone carvings is amazing and evidence of a tremendous craft that has now been lost.

Rosslyn Chapel :) Considering the masters of the time never got the privilege of seeing it's completion .. I consider this chapel a pinnacle of the ages. No where else has a pagan church survived, and been converted to a Catholic church retaining all of the original artwork.
