Sensory Space Ideas

Sensory spaces can offer a sensory experience to explore, increase stimulation or to simply calm down. Here are some examples of spaces that inspire me. Some of these may venture beyond most of our budgets, but will hopefully give you some ideas of ways to create safe explorative spaces in your home or classroom.

I love this idea of a bed with at least 3 walls around it. This can also be achieved by a canopy with walls, a tent around the bed or placing a bed in the corner of a room and creating a third wall at the foot of the bed with a dresser, bookshelf or simply hanging a sheet from the ceiling.
