Michelle McRae on Instagram: "Details👇🏼 These rope gnome ornaments are so easy to make and so cute. The best part is they cost almost nothing to make. All you need is some rope, glue and a small wooden ball (I cut the end off an old clothes pin). This easy Christmas craft would be perfect on the Christmas tree or hanging around the house to add some festive fun to your holiday decor. 📌 Comment GNOME ORNAMENT if you need details or supply links and I’ll message you everything (links earn commissions). 🚨 Tag a friend who loves DIY winter holiday crafts as much as we do."

So now I'm taking a Dollar Tree eight by ten canvass and some scrapbook paper from Hobby Lobby. And the scrapbook paper has just words on it. I don't actually know what it says but and I just measured it and now I'm going to take some green paint. And this paint you could use any kind of paint whatsoever guys. Um this is just acrylic paint and the color ripe olive by Sherwin Williams. And then I'm just going to dry it really good. I used a baby wipe to apply it. And I'm just going to dry it really good. And then I'm going to put some Mod Podge on my canvass. And I'm going to put quite a bit of Mod Podge because I really want it to lay down good. And then I'm going to put my little piece of paper over the top of that. And I love the way that that green turned out. And now now I'm just going to dry it a little bit again. Use my little heat tool. And then flip it back over. And now I'm just going to take my frame and put another little coat of paint on there. I would recommend using a little bit of chalk paint because chalk paint just seems to adhere better but you can make your own chalk paint or you could use Waverly, whatever crafting paint you want. You could even use a flat acrylic paint would be fine and now, I'm just distressing it a little bit and it just springs out those little details and adds to the like rustic look that I'm going for. Rustic but elegant. Now, I'm just going to pop that that canvass right into my frame. And now I have this little burlap piece that says merry Christmas and I pulled that off of a placemat that I used and I'm going to take some Spanish moss. Trying to get like all of the little bits out of there. Spanish moss kind of messy so you kind of have to mess with it a bit to get it to lay right and stuff and so I'm just pulling little pieces off and then I'm just going to use my hot glue and glue it down in the shape of a tree. It actually isn't too difficult once you get it going. You can just move it around with your fingers. It is messy though. Very messy. Um so I've got the basic shape of a tree and so now I'm just going to trim it up. And as you trim it, it will really take on the shape. It's very messy though. It's so pretty when it's done but it's super messy. So just giving it a haircut. And shaping it as I go. I think it's turning out pretty cute. Then I took these pearls from the Dollar Tree. You can get them at Dollar Tree and made little ornament ball looking things and put my rusty star on there. And then I thought that it needed just a little bit more of a little touch so I made a little raffia bow and put it on there too. Anyways guys this is one of my most favorite crafts ever like I was saying. Um if you enjoyed this please sprinkle it out to all your friends. And I hope you love it and have a wonderful day. Thanks for watching.
