Hermia

Insecure about her race and her height, Hermia will have a "muted" costume to portray her. Her costume will not have elegant embroidery or colors and instead will be on the plainer side. This does not mean she will be seen as frumpy by the audience, just not a girl who wants to draw attention to herself. Hermia and Helena are juxtaposed in the play between dark and light, as well as confident and un-confident. I would try my best to portray this through costumes

Since Hermia is not a peasant, I would not put her in a corset with a white peasant blouse. I would out her in a dress similar to this one: I classify it as a noble's day dress. It would not be restricting since she will be moving in potentially uncomfortable positions in the woods.

Dark green "attracts love." IN AMND, Hermia captures the attention of two men, thus attracting love. Te fabric used for Hermia would not be a dark emerald green but will not be very eye catching.
