To make the knitted cowl I just used a flat panel & a tube. The Hooded Cowl looks more complicated than it actually is. I have flat bed knitting machines and have always loved the look of plating. I wanted to do it on my circular knitting machines Addi King & Sentro so I did. I think the natural roll of the purl side on to the knit side would make a nifty looking hat brim. You can also play around with striping (I talk about it in the video towards the end).
