232K views · 6.4K reactions | WORLD’S BEST SUGAR COOKIE RECIPE 💕 Dough Ingredients: -1 cup sugar -2 sticks softened butter -2 eggs -1 tsp vanilla -5 cups flour -1 tsp baking soda -1 tsp baking powder -1/2 tsp salt -1 cup buttermilk Frosting Ingredients: -4 cups powdered sugar -1/2 stick of butter -1 tsp vanilla -1 tsp almond extract (if you don’t like almond do 2 tsp of vanilla) Directions: First, cream together one cup of sugar and two sticks of softened butter. Make sure it’s mixed well. Next, add two eggs and 1 tsp. Vanilla then mix again In a separate bowl combine 5 cups of flour, 1 tsp of baking soda, 1 tsp of baking powder and 1/2 tsp of salt You are then going to add the flour mixture into the other ingredients. And mix until it starts to form into a dough. Lastly add 1 cup of buttermilk and mix. If your dough becomes too wet after this step slowly add in a little more flour until the dough starts to pull away from the sides of the bowl Here comes the fun part! Roll out your dough onto a floured surface (get a little on your hands too) and cut into shapes! We obviously did hearts for Valentine’s Day! The key here is to cut the dough kind of thick to create the fluffy melt in your mouth texture! Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. Make sure you watch the cookies and pull them out right as you can barely see them start to brown on the bottom Frosting comes next - add four cups of powdered sugar, 1/2 stick of butter, 1 tsp of vanilla, 1 tsp of almond extract (if you don’t like almond just use 2 tsp of vanilla) and a splash of milk. Mix well until you get a nice fluffy texture.
