This is an internal Mooncolony project of a stylised environment. Our aim for this environment illustration was to showcase an idyllic setting of a lively nordic village, situated high up in the mountains with a scenic view of the sea in the background. This piece also features the peaceful village's happy dwellers and their friendly, sometimes mischievous, sheep. This is a painting I started months ago. The idea was to take a location from one of my favorite games (Final Fantasy IX) and re-imagine it in an animation background/ghibli style. In the end I moved away fro the style a bit in favor of making the piece work better as a standalone image, but I hope I still managed to capture the feel!
