69K views · 6.9K reactions | 🧮 Here’s a unique and accessible way to help your child understand place value. 🟢 🔴 Use two different colored sticky dots to represent 10’s and 1’s. Make nine sets of each. Use two thin strips of paper to cover up some of the sticky dots and have your child figure out what number is left. You can also write down a number and have your child use the strips of paper to reveal it. 💡Bonus tip ➡️ It’s it’s important for your child to recognize 10’s and 1’s separately but they also need to be able to switch from counting by 10’s to 1’s.You can do this by having your child touch each sticky dot as they count to help demonstrate the shift from counting by 10’s to 1’s to get the number. ✅ If you’re looking for effective hands-on math activities like this one to do at home with your child, click on the link in my bio to purchase my newest kit, Math Foundations. It’s a 10-week program that covers key topics like number decomposition, place value, and learning facts. The activities are based on building number sense to help your child become a problem-solver. Perfect for children ages 6 to 8. | Navi | Math Activities

16K views · 7.9K reactions | Comment “MAT” for the link. Must be following before commenting or IG won’t send the DM correctly! I use these mat mats for my small group, tutorials and take home folder for extra practice at home. Goal is to have kiddos understand the “why” behind multiplication versus just memorizing facts. Of course we want them to get their fact fluency down but also be able to figure out a multiplication. P.S. I also have a Multiplication Kit to help them become 100% fluent with their facts in my TPT. | 𝐕𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐬 | Elementary Math | yourteacherbestie · Original audio
801 reactions · 299 shares | My 4 year old really enjoyed this one. Any time we can practice counting in a unique way is fun. And having to find the missing number gave him a new way to think about it. Some practiced counting, identifying numbers, and some hand strengthening fine motor work with the clothes pins! All around great activity. | Alex Schulze | aaronrizzomusic · Original audio
