(Films 1) Rudolph Valentino (1895-1926) was an Italian actor based in the United States who starred in several well-known silent films including The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and The Sheik. Valentino desparately wanted to be in The Four Horseman and he was finally cast. It was released in 1921 and became a commercial and critical success. It became the 6th highest grossing silent film ever. Valentino considered this one of his best films.
