Hermine was the first song written for the new Octavian Winters album and channels the band's edgier energy, hitting with a wall of sound from the first notes. The critically acclaimed San Francisco band has gained a reputation in their debut 2023 release for offering tightly crafted songs that run from the gamut from the ethereal to the dark and driving, and this new single Hermine visits those harder edges. The lyrics reference the novel Steppenwolf by Hesse, and explore the nature of the fragmented psyche and passionately urges the freedom of self acceptance.
