# Olenza

> Olenza runs its own full nodes and indexers for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Bitcoin Cash, eCash, Zcash, Decred and Monero, and offers them as two products under one account and one API key: Olenza Node (JSON-RPC to the nodes) and Olenza Explorer (a free block explorer website plus a REST API). Nothing is resold from another provider.

- [Olenza Node](https://node.olenza.io/): JSON-RPC at `POST https://node.olenza.io/v1/rpc/{chain}`. Each chain speaks its own node's dialect (Bitcoin-style, Ethereum JSON-RPC 2.0, Monero daemon RPC); the gateway does not translate. A body may be one call or a batch array, except Monero (one call per request; a batch is refused with `INVALID_REQUEST`, not charged). Only a fixed list of methods per chain is allowed (no wallet, peer, node-control or UTXO-set scan methods).
- [Olenza Explorer](https://explorer.olenza.io/): free to browse, no account. Olenza Explorer API: `GET https://explorer.olenza.io/api/v1/{chain}/…` (blocks, transactions, addresses as JSON).

## Authentication

- Send the API key in the `X-API-Key: olz_…` header (or `Authorization: Bearer olz_…`). One key works for both products; each product counts against its own plan.
- Node only: if a client cannot set headers, the key may go in the path, `https://node.olenza.io/v1/rpc/{chain}/olz_…` (prefer the header). The Explorer API never accepts a key in the URL.

## How to get an API key

1. A person signs up at https://account.olenza.io/signup and confirms the email address. Sign-up runs a small proof-of-work check in JavaScript, so it is done in a browser by a person.
2. They create a key at https://account.olenza.io/keys. The key is shown once and stored only as a hash.
3. The free plans need no payment. Paid plans are bought on https://olenza.io/pricing.

The explorer website (https://explorer.olenza.io/) needs no key and no account.

## Plans (USD; every call is one unit)

Olenza Node:
- Free: $0/month — 5 requests/second (burst 10), 10,000 units/day, 300,000 units/month, batch up to 5 calls
- Starter: $25/month — 15 requests/second (burst 30), 200,000 units/day, 5,000,000 units/month, batch up to 20 calls
- Pro: $79/month — 40 requests/second (burst 80), 1,000,000 units/day, 25,000,000 units/month, batch up to 50 calls

Olenza Explorer API:
- Free: $0/month — 3 requests/second (burst 6), 5,000 units/day, 100,000 units/month
- Starter: $19/month — 10 requests/second (burst 20), 100,000 units/day, 2,000,000 units/month
- Pro: $49/month — 30 requests/second (burst 60), 500,000 units/day, 10,000,000 units/month

Bundles (a Node plan and an Explorer plan at one price, two separate allowances):
- Starter Bundle: $35/month — Node Starter + Explorer API Starter
- Pro Bundle: $109/month — Node Pro + Explorer API Pro

Longer periods: 6 months −25%, 12 months −50% (prepaid). At a limit the API answers HTTP 429 with `Retry-After`.
