about
An edit of "Killing Me Softly", recorded by all-round disco royalty Precious Wilson in 1981.
This version is everything to me. Sung by Precious Wilson (Eruption, Supermax and more) and produced by Frank Farian, I’ve had this for a decade and it’s never let me down as a DJ. This edit makes it a tiny bit more muscly and mixable beast, whilst trying to retain its natural charm. Something I try and do with all these edits.
The facemash? That’s Charles Fox, who originally co-wrote Killing Me Softly. Amazingly, he’s most well-known for TV themes – with Happy Days just one of his many telly bangers.
When I grow up, I wanna be more Fox.

Wonderfully warped dance music; the first half is full of steady, pulsing rhythms, the second, delightfully refracted techno. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 24, 2017
