OMEN Recordings is proud to present its latest Various Artists (VA) compilation, "Rituals," an evocative collection that delves deep into the primal, the hypnotic, and the uncanny. This release promises to take listeners on a journey through the diverse landscapes of modern techno, each track an offering to the ritualistic essence of the dance floor. Featuring six exceptional artists, each with a distinct sonic identity, "Rituals" is a testament to the label's commitment to pushing boundaries and exploring the depths of electronic music.
"Kopfschmerzen" by INCREASED CONTROL opens the compilation with its robotic, razor-like synths and twisted drum patterns, this track is a sonic assault, challenging the listener with its intensity. It's a dark, industrial soundscape that evokes images of dystopian futures and relentless machinery.
"Far Cry" by FAIRGROUND OF TEARS continues with an immersive soundscape that is both hypnotic and atmospheric. This track is a ceremonial invocation, weaving layers of ethereal pads with a pulsating undercurrent that transports the listener into a trance-like state. Its ritualistic vibe sets the tone for the auditory journey that follows.
Next, ADAREN's "Kill The Scene" shifts gears with a driving pace that propels the compilation forward. This track is a relentless techno anthem, marked by its pounding bassline and intricate percussive elements. The energy is palpable, designed to dominate the dance floor and incite movement, capturing the raw, unyielding spirit of the underground.
"Zeal" by RHYTHM MODULATION takes the listener into a realm of eerie dissonance. The track is characterized by its creepy, discordant elements, weaving a web of tension and suspense. It's a masterclass in atmosphere, building an unsettling yet captivating aura that grips the listener from start to finish.
JANA GREENSTONE's "Ascension" brings a unique twist to the compilation with its offbeat rhythm and unconventional structure. The track's intricate layers and unexpected turns create a sense of ascension and elevation, as if rising above the physical plane into a higher state of consciousness. It’s a cerebral experience that invites introspection and deeper listening.
Closing the compilation, RYNZLER’s "Alea Iacta Est" is a powerful statement of intent. This drone-heavy, buzzy techno track is both imposing and meditative, blending dense textures with a steady, hypnotic rhythm. The title, meaning "The die is cast," signifies a point of no return, encapsulating the decisive and transformative nature of the entire compilation.
"Rituals" is a profound exploration of the varied expressions within techno, each track contributing to a cohesive narrative that is as introspective as it is dance-inducing. Omen Recordings continues to champion innovative and boundary-pushing music, solidifying its place at the forefront of the techno scene. This release is a must-have for those seeking to experience the deeper, darker, and more mystical facets of electronic music.

I listen to a LOT of Electronic music, particularly the more aggressive combative stuff. And this is definitely one of the most tribal, beat-heavy albums I've heard yet! Very much dig! Vladiatör Ahmadinejad
The debut full length album from Melbourne electronic producer Female Wizard is full of trancelike keys and rapturous rhythms. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 4, 2021
aagggghh this is so good!! The press release does not exaggerate - Orphx manage to find new vistas of intensity on this release. Sau Zuk is a very special accomplishment - the worlds of metal scraping industrial and techno come together in a truly gruesome union here. The last time I heard this accomplished so well would have been Perc's Jmurph, which is a decade ago now.
Showing some deep appreciation for these fellow Ontarians!! wahrearbeitwahrerlohn
