omgskills is a free Mac menu-bar app for discovering, reading, installing, copying, and managing SKILL.md agent skills. We try to collect as little data as practical.

Scope

This policy applies to the omgskills Mac app, the omgskills.com website, downloads, public data pages such as leaderboards, and public agent integrations such as MCP or ChatGPT apps.

Information stored locally

The app may store settings, installed or saved skill files, cached skill metadata, and local app state on your Mac. This local data is used to make the app work and is not shared with us unless you choose to send it to us.

App telemetry and diagnostics

We may collect limited app telemetry and diagnostics, such as app launches, feature usage, install or copy actions, refresh events, app version, macOS version, anonymous identifiers, error signals, and crash-related diagnostics.

Website analytics

When you visit omgskills.com, we may collect limited website analytics and advertising measurement data such as page views, referring pages, browser and device information, approximate region, advertising attribution identifiers, and download-link clicks. These services may use cookies or similar browser identifiers.

Agent integrations

Public agent integrations, including the omgskills MCP server used by compatible clients such as ChatGPT, receive the tool call and parameters the client sends for your request. These may include search terms, author handles, stable skill IDs, filters, and result limits. The tools return public catalog metadata and do not require an omgskills account.

The public integration is read-only. It does not independently access your private chats, ChatGPT account information, private files, credentials, authentication tokens, private skills, or unpublished skills. Do not include sensitive information in tool requests. Our hosting provider may retain ordinary request and error logs for operations and security.

Download metrics

We may collect or receive basic download-related information, such as which download links were clicked, when a release was requested, and aggregate counts related to downloads or updates.

Support communications

If you contact us directly, we may receive your name, email address, message contents, and any files, logs, or screenshots you choose to send.

How we use information

We use information to operate the app and website, improve features, maintain data freshness, understand usage in aggregate, measure advertising attribution and conversions, diagnose errors, protect the service, and respond to support requests.

Public data and leaderboards

Some data shown on omgskills.com/data may be public or derived from public sources. We may publish public skill metadata, rankings, counts, trend data, and aggregate signals that do not directly identify individual users.

Third-party services

We may use service providers for hosting, analytics, telemetry, downloads, advertising measurement, and product operations. Current or planned providers may include TelemetryDeck for app telemetry, Humblytics for website analytics, and Reddit Ads and X Ads for advertising measurement and attribution. These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies.

What we do not intentionally collect

• The contents of your clipboard, except locally when you use a copy feature.
• Your private files or folders beyond what the app needs to manage skills you choose to use.
• The contents of unrelated apps on your Mac.
• Precise location data.
• Sensitive personal information unless you choose to send it to us.

Sharing

We may share information with service providers that help us run the app or website, if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell personal information.

Data retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for product, operational, legal, security, analytics, troubleshooting, or support purposes.

Your choices

You may stop using the app, delete local app data from your Mac, use browser privacy controls or ad-blocking tools to limit website measurement, avoid the website, or contact us to request deletion of information you directly provided to us.

Children's privacy

omgskills is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

International processing

Our service providers may process data in the United States or other countries.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and post the revised version here.
