A 1983 renewal for the 1955 book 'From Zero to Infinity' by Constance Bowman Reid mentions that a portion of it had been adapted from a previous publication in Scientific American. That renewal might cover the prior publication if it was in a 1955 issue. (In any case, all 1955 issues were renewed by the magazine publisher.)
