The Musical Courier

The Musical Courier was an American magazine reporting on music and the music trade. (There is a Wikipedia article about this serial.)

Publication History

The Musical Courier began in 1880 as 'Musical and Dramatic Courier', but shortened its name to The Musical Courier in 1883. The first copyright-renewed issue is May 1961 (v. 163 no. 6). The first copyright-renewed contribution is from April 15, 1947. (More details) It was renamed Musical Courier and Review of Recorded Music around early 1961, and then Music Magazine and Musical Courier in late 1961. It appears to have stopped publishing as a magazine in 1962, though its publisher, Summy-Birchard, used the Musical Courier name afterwards on some annual directories.
