The Maori Messenger (Ko te Karere Maori)

The Maori Messenger (Ko te Karere Maori) was a bilingual English and Māori newspaper published in New Zealand in the 19th century.

Publication History

The Maori Messenger (Ko te Karere Maori) appears to have begun publishing under this name in 1849, reviving a Māori paper known as Te Karere o Nui Tireni. The first incarnation under this name appears to have fizzled out in 1854; a revived version was published starting in 1855, and lasted until about 1860.
