Marine Engineering

Marine Engineering was the original title of a long-running American marine engineering journal. The full title varied over time, often as it absorbed other publications.

Publication History

Marine Engineering began in 1897. It was renamed International Marine Engineering in 1906, then reverted to Marine Engineering in 1920. It was then renamed Marine Engineering and Shipping Age in 1921, then Marine Engineering and Shipping Review in 1935, then Marine Engineering again in 1953. In 1956 it merged with The Log to become Marine Engineering and the Log, a title that shortened in 1957 to Marine Engineering/Log. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. In 1977 the title briefly lengthened to Marine Engineering/Log International but reverted to Marine Engineering/Log in 1979. In 1987 the publication was renamed Marine Log, which continues today.
