The Massachusetts Teacher was a 19th-century American educational journal.

Publication History

The Massachusetts Teacher began in 1848. In 1856 and 1857 it was published as The Massachusetts Teacher and Journal of Home and School Education, and then reverted to its original name. In 1872 it was published as The Teacher, reverting again in 1973. It ended in 1874, and then merged with other New England educational periodicals to form The New England Journal of Education (now the Journal of Education).

• 1848-1855: JSTOR has volumes 1-8, published as The Massachusetts Teacher.
• 1856-1857: JSTOR has volumes 9 and 10, published as The Massachusetts Teacher and Journal of Home and School Education.
• 1858-1871: JSTOR has volumes 11-19, part of volume 20, and volumes 21-24, published as The Massachusetts Teacher.
• 1872: JSTOR has volume 25, published as The Teacher.
• 1873-1874: JSTOR has volumes 26 and 27, published as The Massachusetts Teacher.
